This is quite possible and it would be worth looking on any Chrome forums to see if others have had problems using your version of Chrome since the update. Google will no doubt release an update to correct this if it is the case. Similarly Intel may need to release a new version of their driver too!
Chrome actually autoupdated sometime yesterday as the version running now is Version 60.0.3112.32 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) which is newer than when I first started this thread. The only thing is only if lots of others have the issue so they are aware of it and provide a fix since now. The problem might not even be Chrome but just certain type of traffic going through the network hardware with the driver that is causing it to BSOD. I am not even sure how to report the problem to Intel to have them look into it as they will most likely just say to clean install the driver which is what I already did as I did a complete uninstall in the add/remove programs which defaults to the Windows stock driver before installing the official Intel released drivers.

Just decided to do a sfc /scannow and here are the results:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log is in the attached zipped file, no idea how or what files need fixing.
    CBSlog.zip

One other thing of interest is that when I start Google Chrome, I also run the Tabs Outliner plug-in to restore the 70 browser tabs except what I noticed is since June 13/14, the browser would hang while loading which requires disconnecting the WiFi and connecting to the WiFi immediately and then everything will load fine, it's as if the network data killed the wifi connection or something.

zbook, I think the files it's complaining about is what is known as the GPedit (Group Policy Editor) hack that does not come with Windows 10 Home so those files were added using the method here after I did a in-place repair install of Creators Edition 1703 on 6/3/2017, 11:21:16 PM PDT even though the original upgrade was done in mid-April 2017 but I was having problems with Cortana and windows search lagging which was actually caused by NJStar Communicator which was fixed when I installed the same version on top of the existing install:
How To Enable Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) In Windows 10 Home Edition

So before doing the dism, I basically did the above again just to replace those files with a fresh copy.

As for the other things, here goes:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.15063.0

    The operation completed successfully.

Following the above, I ran 3 "sfc /scannow" since online references says it should be done 3 times.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannowBeginning system scan. This process will take some time.Beginning verification phase of system scan.Verification 100% complete.Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repairedthem. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Forexample C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently notsupported in offline servicing scenarios.C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Run a new sfc /scannow to see if it will now display that it found no integrity violations.

For any google chrome problems can you save all of your bookmarks to a file or another browser? Then use control panel to uninstall it. Then reinstall it and restore your bookmarks.

No new BSOD yet... I'll post if I experience a BSOD.

If you look at the 2 log files, you will see the other log file already did two additional sfc /scannow done which is in the newer sfclogs.txt but in any case, here is a new current one:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannowBeginning system scan. This process will take some time.Beginning verification phase of system scan.Verification 100% complete.Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.C:\WINDOWS\system32>

For the Google Chrome problems, it is not the URL's I'm concerned about but there are financial institution sites which requires a cookie that is verified by e-mail only and my e-mail (gmail account) on file cannot send/receive emails because it is full and I don't have time to go over 350,000 emails in the next few days either. I don't use bookmarks but I keep those browser tabs opened because each one is something I need to do so when I am done with that task, I'll just close that tab.

The google chrome problem is not really a google chrome problem as it has something to do with the Intel WiFi connection as it stops all network traffic to/from the internet that only a disconnect and reconnect will fix and resume on it's own.

As I mentioned in the original post, this is a ASUS G74SX-3DE desktop replacement 17.3" laptop computer so ofcourse it will be hot. The hardware is 5 years and comes with whatever casing the laptop uses as a standard. 50c+ is high for desktop drives but not for laptops as remember laptops especially gaming machines that runs a nVidia GeForce GTX 560m for a video card.

If you have not already done so please open administrative command prompt and run chkdsk x /f /r on the drive. It may take many hours to run so plan to run it overnight. Please post the eventvwr report in the thread.
