BSOD with QR code--never seen before

NOTE: This is for my 2nd PC in my System Specs (Asus).

I was playing a casual game, then suddenly got BSOD with QR code.

Only thing unusual for this laptop is past few days, screen would get black vertical lines on a light blue screen with a buzz sound that is stuck buzzing. Has happened playing casual games.

It has taken me over 24 hrs. to get a dump file for posting...sorry.

Impossible to get all the way into Windows, tried everything on the menu. I copied the forum program to an SD card using an old netbook, & just a little while ago, was able to execute it on the troubled laptop. It froze on the 1st try, but I think it is all there this time. Finally got it to complete using Safe Mode (no networking); so posting this from netbook.

Note that I ended up rolling back to May 12 before the major recent Update (even though previous crashes told me there were no Restore Points).

Thanks in advance for taking a look.

    Update--
Still trying to get Win back, & QR code screen came up again; this time it 100% completed (said for disc errors).

    Here is message:
An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system. Press Ctrl+Atl+Del to restart.

I have a 2nd HDD in this machine that is only for data storage/backups. SD card is not in; NAS is not connected because no internet.
Going to do what it says & report back.

Tried C+A+D twice, brings back to same error message. This is new. Going to shut off at power button & keep trying things.

    spddemun,
Have you tried booting without the 2nd HDD in the machine?

Yes, after posting; same result. Even went into BIOS & changed boot order to HDD 1st
    (CD 2nd).

    Thanks for reply.

    I will try your suggestions.

    Will my downloaded-to-CD Win10 suffice?
Or have to take it back to 7?

Failed restore points to May 12 (major Win Update).
Keeps giving as only option, but nothing changes.

A bootable Win 10 DVD or USB drive should assist in finding the problem. I do not see that you would need to go back to Win 7. Be sure to check out this guide--> Run Startup Repair in Windows 10 Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

Have been working on this all weekend, last try was stuck at DOS screen to C/Alt/Del screen & press any key to start...just kept showing the same thing over & over when any key pressed. Could not restart or shut down without using power button.

I tried some other things in other posts like scannow, no go.

Pulled the HDD out of my dead mobo Dell & stuck it into this one, everything loaded & even adjusted to the native res of 1920x1080!
Some of my kid games asked for CD (yeah, I know, LOL) to open the program, did that, & all worked.

Then, late last night, back to square one with BSOD QR code screen, freezing, & no way out but with power button.

So, open to any other suggestions as to what is going on. I'm using the machine right now...turned it on this afternoon & acting great, except web pages loading slow.

I have a blank HDD that I will try next to do a clean install of 10 & see what happens. But would still like some advice. Thanks.

UPDATE: Did not put in blank HDD because I am exhausted. It seems it may be hardware failure somewhere, & HDD is not the problem.

Forgot to add that Dell HDD I put in had the completed new 10 Creator's Update (where it adds the Xbox section in Settings); it is not showing up on this machine. I have a couple of Updates already in this machine, but still without the Xbox section. Puzzled?

UPDATE: I was able to manually d/l Creator's Update.

BUT--Device Manager menu is cascading jumping in & out. Tried some of fixes I found, none worked. I was able to try updating each device's drivers, but said I already had the best installed.

Update on past 2 weeks--nothing has worked.

I pulled the Asus HDD & popped in the HDD from my Dell. Everything booted perfectly, & thought I was home free.

Last night, back to the same BSOD, sometimes boots, but mostly freezes at various points.

I think there is hardware failure somewhere? Machine is from 2010, that I inherited from a gamer in the family. Is it time to just give up? Working on it for over 2 weeks. :-(
