0xc000000f a required device is not connected
Hey Everyone,
Unfortunately I do have to start by saying I am unable to provide the stuff from logs and everything, as I can't even boot up at the moment. I'm attempting to use my original Windows 7 installation disk to downgrade from 10 to 7 where this computer started at. I was doing this to do a fully clean install before giving the computer to a family member.
The first attempt, I had no problems whatsoever booting up. I was able to tell the laptop to boot from cd/dvd and get the installation media to come up. I went through to custom install to fully wipe the hdd and reinstall 7, but then it immediately failed. Since that, I have not been able to boot the computer in any way. I can't boot through USB, cd/dvd, HDD, anything. I can't get it to boot to safe mode in any way so I can't get to cmd to run any commands. Any help on this issue? Is there a way I can easily wipe the HDD completely and then try to boot from the disk without ruining the HDD itself or bricking the computer?
Any help is appreciated.
The attached image is the screen I'm seeing, except I don't have the F9 option as it is a single boot system. Hitting enter or F8 just brings the same screen back up.
The computer is a Dell Inspiron N5040 laptop. The HDD was replaced a few years ago due to an older one failing.
