Random BSOD every 1-2 days on Windows 10 custom PC (3 years old)

    Hey All,

I've been getting a computer hang roughly every day for the past 3 days now and I'm not sure what's causing it. Seems to happen randomly while browsing the internet (Chrome) having various programs open (Visual Studio, Unity, etc.) and hasn't happened yet while gaming.

It's actually not an immediate BSOD, but what happens is the whole machine locks up. Mouse cursor is frozen. No keyboard commands do anything (even CAPS LOCK does not turn on the keyboard light). One time after 30s, my right monitor went black and did not recover.

I then hit the restart (not power) button on my tower which does reboot, at which point I'm greeted with a BSOD with MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION.

This did happen roughly 5-6 months ago but seemed to go away. My GFX drivers are up to date as well as Windows 10 Updates. I've got a 256 GB SSD with the OS installed (~30GB free) and another 1TB SSD for data.

    Specs:
    Windows 10
    Asus Maximus VI Gene
Intel Core i5 (Corsair H100i water cooled with plenty of case fans)
    NVIDIA GTX 770
    16 GB DDR3 RAM
256 GB SSD (OS) + 1 TB SSD (data)

I've attached the zip as indicated when creating posts. Any help would be great.

    Attachment 135294

    Thanks,

    Paul

Hello Pawl and welcome to Tenforums :)

There are no BSOD dump files in the logs that we can check. I have looked through your drivers and can see some older ones associated with your Razer Mouse dated from 2013. It would be worth seeing if there are any updates for this or uninstalling and trying with another mouse for testing purposes.

    Thanks, philc43!

I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.
