Do you get any new dumpfiles when your system BSODed. If yes, could you upload a new dm log.

When looking through your eventlog i noticed 2 things, do not know if they are related to your update/bsod problems at all.
Bluetooth has accepted service {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} on remote device (00:00:00:00:00:00) due to policy Bluetooth\ServicesAllowedList.
Do you connect with Bluetooth to a audio device ( because 2 dumpfiles are related to audio).

I also found reference to Sandboxie.SBIE1101 Sandboxie driver (SbieDrv) version 5.16 initialized.

Some wild idea in the context of nothing ventured, nothing gained .
Could somehow Sandboxie interfere with the updating of windows (sometimes you here that people first need to uninstall some Antivirus programs before updating). What happens if you uninstall Sandboxie?
Look into the Bluetooth thing, disconnect device or uninstall before updating, if you use it at all.

As said i do not think it is the solution but nothing ventured, nothing gained .

Well, I've got good news and bad news.

Bad news is that the update still didn't work, and there's no new dumpfiles. I uninstalled Bluetooth as a device, and uninstalled Sandboxie.

Good news is that Windows Update finally recognizes that the update failed.

Do you get any errorcode when the install goes wrong?

You have a logitech usb receiver for your mouse and/or keyboard?
Do you have other mouse/keyboard with ps2 or usbcable you can use for the update.

When searching feature update windows 10, 1607 failed update, i found this
Like reply #11 I had been trying everything above with the same result. It would get to about 75% on the install and then hang up. Since I was going to bed for the night I decided to try the USB fix. I have a wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard. I set the computer to restart about 15 minutes later, unplugged the USB plug from the computer, and went to bed. When I got up I plugged the USB connector back in, hit the power button to wake the computer up, and discovered the update had installed and everything was working fine. I had spent the previous afternoon checking all of the drivers for updates and had about 10 of them update. All the others said they were good. I tried to install the update again but I still had the same result as before. I checked the date on the keyboard driver and it said 2006. I guess they hadn’t put out anything newer. What a simple fix. I guess I need a later model keyboard and mouse.
Yes, this worked for me too. I unplugged the Logitech mouse USB and it worked. I had tried this install so many times and the solution was so simple. UNPLUG the USB.
Maybe you can give it also a try.

Wow—you're doing so much to help me! Even if we can't figure this out, thanks a ton for all the work you've done.

So, I unfortunately don't seem to have access to a wired keyboard/mouse right now, but I told it to update and disconnected the keyboard. The BIOS would warn me that I don't have a keyboard plugged in, but would then continue with Windows Boot Manager as normal. Looks like that's not my problem, either.

I've plugged my HDD back in, as well as the monitor connected to my motherboard, so I can continue working on my computer while we work through this; should I make sure they're unplugged every time I try to update?

    Hey again!

So, I can't find an errorcode. Maybe that just means that I don't know where to look, though.

So, I tried it with a wired keyboard, and kept the motherboard monitor and the HDD unplugged. Still a no-go.

I saw axe0 recommend to some other bloke to remove all startup programs and run disk verifier (BSOD When Updating to Windows 10 Anniversary). I've been doing that, and haven't yet come up with anything. After a guesstimated 18 hours, Disk Verifier hasn't generated a BSOD yet.

If you ever want to call it quits, feel free to let me know. I won't be offended.

    Woah. It updated! It works!

I guess Windows fixed itself. Wonderful!

Thanks again for your continued help, lifetec!
