Here's a post to a thread I started. It's a long and daunting thread but in it we do discuss 'SFC' at length. I was having trouble getting it to complete also. Search for 'SFC' and see if it helps you.

Windows takes two hours to boot every reboot. Goes to spinning circles

Re-posting my comments from some hours ago in case it didn't get noticed. How do i bypass the error with not beeing able to run sfc/ scannow?

    I have now run sfc/scannow.

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

Edit: Changed the volume to c:\> and ran sfc/scannow again. I got the same result as above."

    No problem. Just asking.

I'm still stuck. Not sure how to solve this.

I tried to start windows from safe mode as well but the same error thing is happening as in the video I attached from the first post. After the quick flash it I can see it says Safe Mode in the top screen but it goes back to re-booting anyways.

(I edited the start up value - using the bcdedit command)

Was there something specific you wanted me to check from msconfig @axe0 ?

Thanks for all feedback on this issue so far.

Do you happen to know if your drive is using GPT or MBR partitioning?

    It is MBR partitioning.
