HP must have limited access to the usual BIOS settings. There might be a reset CMOS option but I guess we are getting side tracked now - it is more important to continue with the tests I suggested (single memory stick, safemode without network etc.)

I firstly took out the 2gb of ram and when I plugged it all back in, the monitor had no signal.

I proceeded to take out the 4gb instead and it worked, but I have 2gb..

Try replacing the 2GB with the 4GB and see if that will work.

    Ok. Results.

I put the 2gb in and I received a BSOD.
I got the 4gb working (probably didnt clip in the right way but it works now) and I am now testing it to see if it BSOD's.

If if BSOD's, it's not the RAM confirmed.

The 4gb RAM caused a BSOD which means it isnt the RAM.

If it continues to give BSOD in safe mode without networking then we have to deduce there is either an error with your windows installation or a hardware error with the Motherboard.

I received a BSOD regarding AMDSATA.SYS (irql_not_less_or_equal) on safe mode.

but when I go idle on the desktop I do not seem to BSOD as I have been on it for a couple of hours without one.

Also, my latest BSOD was caued by dxgmms2.sys on normal mode

Have you updated all your device drivers from the HP website?

Have you tried running the HP diagnostics suite to see if it can identify problems with your system?

HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP(R) Customer Support

I don't know what to download here as the nvidia drivers only downloaded old drivers the last time I did it.

I already did the HP diagnostics but I will try again.
