BSOD during update from WP 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile build 10149

    BSOD during update from WP 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile build 10149


    I tried to install Windows 10 Mobile build 10149 on my Lumia 435 (update from 8.1). Everything went well until I got to the cogs. At the cogs screen, the bar got about 3 quarters filled and then I got a sad face BSOD and the phone rebooted, Microsoft logo appeared and then it got back to the cogs only to reboot again in about 20-30 seconds. It keeps doing that. I can revert back to 8.1 with WP Recovery Tool, but I'd like to know why I'm getting this error and if I can install this build somehow.

    1. POWER OFF your Lumia phone
    2. Remove and replace the battery
    3. Press and hold the POWER button until the phone vibrates
    4. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button until the “”!”” appears
    5. Press the VOLUME UP button
    6. Press the VOLUME DOWN button
    7. Press the POWER button
    8. Press the VOLUME DOWN button
    9. Wait until Welcome screen appears
    10. Your Lumia 435 phone has been completely reset to its original factory settings
