Windows didnt create memory dump after crashes

I ran into 2 BSODS in space of 10 mins, I couldn't find any memory.dmp file in root directory, and Windows restarted very quickly after the blue screen so I didn't get to spot the error message. How do I make sure Windows logs the crash next it time? I manually set it to 'Kernel memory dump' from Automatic in system Settings, is this enough? Microsoft support page mentions that the pagefile needs to be the same or bigger than the physical memory installed, I have 8 GBs, does this mean pagefile needs to be 8 too?

Please check if your system is configured for collecting dumpfiles. (6. To have Windows Create a Small memory dump (Minidump) File on BSOD
If you are using CCcleaner or similar Apps please uncheck deleting dumpfiles option.

Yes, both 'Write an event to system log' and and 'Auto restart' are marked, that was the default but still Windows didn't log the BSOD. The dump file type is set to Automatic memory dump, I'm not exactly sure what that does from the guide you posted(again it mentions the relation to pagefile size) , would it help if it switched it to Kernel memory dump? also don't have any cleaning software.

Kernel dumpfiles can get very big in size.

Did you (hard) reboot your system after you made the changes for collecting memory dumps.

Some more info of possible causes of not configuring dumpfiles.

If minidumps are still not being created check these reasons as to why that may be happening
For dumps to be produced The following should be correct

Page file must be on the same drive as your operating system
Page file base allocation size must be greater than installed physical RAM
Windows Error Reporting (WER) system service should be set to MANUAL
Set page file to system managed on the OS drive
Set system crash/recovery options to "kernel memory dump"
User account control must be running.
Sometimes SSD drives with older firmware do not create DMPS (update firmware)
Cleaner applications like Ccleaner delete DMP files so dont run them until you are fixed.

Bad Physical RAM may prevent the data from being saved and written to a file on reboot.* If you suspect bad RAM run Memtest from this wiki

Full memory dumps can also be deleted (in win 7) if your HD space is under 25 gigs but if you configured your system as the above suggests you should not be generating full dumps
