Suspected problem with Dell 1550W wireless driver

I attach the zip file as requested.

The driver is the latest on that Dell have released. There are three minidumps here, all of which occurred while I was working using the wireless ethernet, never any problems when using wired.

    Cheers

Latest dump indicates a problem with bcmwl63a.sys.
    Code:

This belongs to Dell Wireless 1550 802.11ac device. The one installed is dated 23/11/2015 22:56:21. The latest on the Dell website: Support for Precision M6800 is dated: 06 Jan 2016 and updated 11 May 2016.

Install that and see if it helps.

That would appear to be the one I have installed already, but just in case I DLed and installed the file you suggested.

    Afterwards:

Now we wait and see if the problem occurs again or not.

Well, given that the driver the files haven't changed between before and after I think it's a certainty.

Probably, but it's possible a corrupted file was replaced.

If you want to pursue this more aggressively then I suggest enabling Driver Verifier and see if that shakes out anything.

    ===================================================
    Driver Verifier
is a diagnostic tool built into Windows 10, it is designed to verify both native Microsoft drivers and third party drivers. Driver Verifier's verification process involves putting heavy stress on drivers with the intention of making bad, outdated, incompatible or misbehaving drivers fail. The required result is a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) which will generate a crash dump for debugging purposes.
Machines exposed to Driver Verifier will run very sluggishly due to the stress being applied to the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

    Pay close attention to
    PART TWO
and make sure the correct boxes are checked.

    Warning:
It is not advised to run Driver Verifier for more than 48 hours at a time. Disable Driver Verifier after 48 hours or after receiving a BSOD, whichever happens soonest.

Always create a Restore Point prior to enabling Driver Verifier.

What we're looking for is a BSOD with a mini dump that will tell us what driver caused it.

Here you are - it BSODed (MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) within 5 minutes of booting after turning on driver verifier.

Please let me know what else I can do.

    Thanks

No new dump in the zip file. Last one is dated 12/26.

I see a lot of entries in eventlog.txt for Bluetooth. Do you have any Bluetooth devices?

Also see a lot of these in eventlog.txt:
    Code:
    Event[44307]:
      Log Name: System
      Source: hcmon
      Date: 2017-01-02T10:46:24.195
      Event ID: 0
      Task: N/A
      Level: Warning
      Opcode: N/A
      Keyword: Classic
      User: N/A
      User Name: N/A
      Computer: APOLLO
      Description:
    Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\hhdusbh64).
I would uninstall this program for now.
    Code:
    Product: Device Monitoring Studio
    Company: HHD Software Ltd.
    Description: USB Monitoring filter driver

    Just noticed this:
    Code:
    Event[44254]:
      Log Name: System

      Keyword: Classic
      User: N/A
      User Name: N/A
      Computer: APOLLO
      Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001a (0x0000000000004477, 0x000000001293000b, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 1646dbf1-d8af-4f60-a825-8dbd7e810fb9.
See if file C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP exists. If yes, zip it and upload to a file sharing site like OneDrive then post a link to it here so I can look at it.

The first file in APOLLO-02_01_2017_104853_83.zip is 010217-12828-01.dmp from this morning at 10:46 which I just verified from the file in the upload.

HHD Software Free USB Analyzer 7.71 SW removed.

Yes, I have a couple of bluetooth devices, a serial device, and GPS (also serial NMEA), but neither are currently powered on.

I have turned off BT for the meantime. Bluetooth services provided by the same card as 802.11ac wireless FWIW (different driver tho').

You can find the full dump file at www.perdrix.co.uk/MEMORY.zip. Please let me know when you have it and I'll delete it from the server.

    Thank you, Dave
