    Windows STOP Code: nvlddmkm.sys failed (system thread exception not..

    Attachment 111752

    I bought used computer from EPC, Inc store for heavy calculation purpose (Dell Precision T5600, Xeon E5-2687W, 8 Core, 32 GB, NVDIA Quadro 5000) - I was running multiphysics simulation program . It was working nicely for ... 2 months than motherboard crashed and EPC service made repair. After week or two of this change computer started crashing giving above pictured error code: system thread exception not handled :: failed nvlddmkm.sys;

    I brought back to the service. They checked and told that it could be the problem of external hardware (external drive or something similar). I didn't use any external drive and disconnected the second TV/Monitor (I thought it could cause this problem).

    All these doesn't help. computer gets crashed in every few hours (now even faster).

    I can bring it to the service back but I'm not sure they can manage to identify the issue. Though, anyway - would like to know possible reasons.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Diagnostic ZIP file is attached.

    Latest dump indicates a problem with your Nvidia Quadro 5000 card or driver. Your curent driver is version 368.86 dated 7/11/2016. The Nvidia website has a newer one, version 375.86 dated 11/16/2016.

    Follow these directions to install the newer one:

    Remove and install latest Nvidia drivers:

    I suggest completely uninstalling the Nvidia display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from WagnardMobile (near bottom of page) then get the latest driver for you Nvidia card here: NVIDIA Driver Downloads

    Then do a custom install of only the NVidia graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

    See if that gets rid of the problem.

    I downloaded latest driver and uninstaller as you suggested. I wonder if I can continue using my computer after driver uninstall. Do I need any sort of bootable media or live USB/CD ?

    Second question: I don't know what PhysX driver is - is it included with NVDIA Driver package or I need to find it separately ?

    Thank you for your help!
