Windows 10: Error 0xc000014c Cannot boot from any media nor access bios
Error 0xc000014c Cannot boot from any media nor access bios
Windows 10 / Z68 / i2500K (not overclocked)
I had a faulty audio amp blow the fuses on the house when plugging in. My desktop went to blue screen with the message:
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors
Error code: 0x000014c
You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't...
I created a recovery tool USB from another PC. Booted from the USB, went into recovery and it fixed the PC without issue.
A week later and the PC just froze. Had to reboot - straight back to the above screen. Tried the same process and the operating system on the USB would not load. Tried different USB ports, tried a DVD - nothing. Reset the Bios - nothing. Loaded a new complete Windows 10 onto USB to try a clean install. Will not load. I can no no longer even access the Bios to change the boot sequence. So no bios access, recovery not working, clean install not happening.
Need this urgently for work (data is backed up externally plus on separate hard drives in the PC regardless so no issue with data loss). Would this most likely be a hard drive or MOBO issue? Picking a replacement C drive may be the best option. Current drive is a Samsung EVO SSD.
You posted in the wrong forum. As the notice at the top says:
Please do not post anything other than Windows 10 Blue Screen Of Death problems in this section.
Your best bet would be to post this in the General Support | Windows 10 Forums
Apologies. The screen was blue. The PC appears dead. Not up with the nuances of what constitutes a BSOD.
Will post it elsewhere. If mods could close. this thread.
I have tried the following to recover from this problem:
1) Acronis 2016 true image rescue disc
2) Easeustodo v9.2 rescue disc
3) Windows 10 generated rescue disc
4) Windows installation from CD via an widows.iso file
Have a Lenovo H420 desktop that was upgraded about 2 months ago. We backed up everything and want to reinstall Windows 7.
But I can find no way to get into the Setup screen. I've gone to Settings, Update & Security, Advanced Startup and Restart...
Please, help. My laptop suddenly crashed and now it says "Boot media missing" when I restarted. After that, it always takes me to "Preparing Automatic Repair" and then the 'Troubleshoot' menu.
In the 'Troubleshoot' menu, it has two options:...
Soo... things have gone from bad to worse.
My problem started after windows 10 updated when I shut down my laptop for a quick restart. Windows explorer would crash every second, reopen, then crash again without stopping. I tried a system restore...
My problem is that I can't access UEFI Firmware settings or Boot from USB/DVD in the Advanced startup.
They are missing. What can I do? I want to go back to windows 8.1 (Don't have windows.old folder), but it gives me an error when I install it...
