    Diagnostics Test

     Clean boot

    Please try the following:
    • Open taskmanager
      • Go to the tab startup
      • disable everything

    • Search msconfig and open it
      • Go to the tab services
      • Check 'hide microsoft services'
      • Uncheck all other services
      • Click apply and click ok

    • Reboot if asked

See if the problem persist, if the problem does not persist enable in the startup tab in taskmanager 1 item and in the services tab in msconfig also 1 service, reboot and see if the problem persist. Keep doing this until you find the culprit or there is nothing left.
If the problem still persist, try booting in safe mode and see if the problem still persist

I was going to try what you said in case the PC froze up like mentioned. It worked fine yesterday for almost 8 hours.

However, when I started it up today, after about 5m it froze. I checked the event viewer and found a bunch of logs listed by Windows Error Reporting. I tracked down the first log as soon as the PC froze and it directed me to a dump file stored in C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG\

I have attached the dump file in question and I would like to request you to check if there is something helpful there.
There are 11 total dumps in that folder, let me know if you need them all. I have only attached the one referenced by the event viewer log entry that matched the time stamp of the freeze.

Upload a new zip from the DM Log Collector instead of a .7z file, for stability reasons I cannot open a 7z file.

It looks like the DM Log Collector doesnt collect the dumps in C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG
Therefore I have uploaded a zip file of the dump.

There is a difference between a live kernel report and an actual BSOD, the live kernel reports usually contain dumps from a 0x117 after the display recovered from a black screen. An actual BSOD is a system crash.

Although the dump shows a 0x141, it is kind off the same as a 0x116 (which is similar to a 0x117 with the only difference that a 0x116 crashes without recovery), but a 0x141 is officially not a system crash and as such is only present in WER's and event logs as far as I've seen in the zips.
Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD. Be sure to install as less as possible software using custom/advanced options, you can use this tutorial for the installation part AMD Graphics Drivers - Install Without Catalyst Install Manager - Windows 7 Help Forums

Thanks for the info provided. The system is unusable once the 0x141 takes place and I have to kill the power and start it, no BSOD. Just frozen.

I already gave DDU a shot and installed the bare minimum as per the thread you listed. The PC worked fine all day yesterday, but 5m from boot today and it froze. I killed the power and started it up again, it has been working for now but I am not sure when it will decide to freeze again.

    What else can I try?

You can try many things, but I would want to have a look at the event logs and WER's in case they have some information that needs attention.

IMHO, a system freeze is much worse than a BSOD. Reason being it may be very difficult to troubleshoot, because a freeze only provides the information that a forced shutdown has occured in many cases. I'm talking with experience as I've been troubleshooting system freezes on my own system for about 5 months now, because the freezes happen extremely random from 15 per day to 1 per week.

As soon as you sent that reply the PC froze again. I killed the power, booted it up and 10 seconds after opening the web browser it froze yet again.

Booted up a second time and I ran the DM log collector, I have attached the latest DM collector log. Seems like the WER logged only for the crashes before the last two, just listing it here.

I am not sure if this is important but after killing the power and starting it, during POST (bios screen) the image is blurred at times. At times the windows loading screen is blurred ie two images are shown. This is random and sometimes doesnt happen at all. I have only seen this happen when I kill the power and boot the PC to restart from a freeze.

Do you think it is better to go for a clean install?

Could you try to seat the GPU in another slot please.

I have two PCI x16 slots so I have seated the GPU in the other slot. I will test it and report back if it freezes.
    Thanks for the help.
