BSOD Windows 10 (host crashed while running VMWare Workstation Unity)

    Hi All,

On a rock solid machine (to date) I got a BSOD. During this time I was using Unity (VMWare Pro), and the host crashed (not the client VM).

I did try the tool at http://www.osronline.com/, which seems to claim that the culprit was steam.exe, but I'm not sure that makes sense.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi giometrix,

This is a suggestion you will not like, because it will take you days, possibly a week, to complete the requirement of the test with 64GB of memory.
What I would recommend is to remove some sticks, keeping around 8-24GB, seat them properly and then run the test. Then the test should take a max of 2 days (with 24GB).

     RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

    Note   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.
