BSOD scanning multipage document, error 0x00000133

System had been running for a long time without a BSOD to occur. The system is set to standard operation, not in turbo mode (AVG TuneUp). The task of scanning a 20 page document had just completed when the system experienced the crash.

Have followed the recommented instructions suggested in hopes of learning what has caused the BSOD. If can learn what caused the crash, perhaps a change to the system could be made to correct the problem that caused the crash.

Thank you for your help and patience.

Hello, thank you kindly for getting back with me so soon. I did not expect a rapid reply. This makes me feel that it is a worthy cause to support the site to become a VIP member if possible.

Please, if you will, provide me with the specifics of which softrware is believed to be pirated/illegal? I have a couple of grandsons that uses this system for their homework. I did not realize there was illegal activity happening on this system. I have asked the kids not to use the system anymore until we figure out what is going on. The system is now password protected thus making the system accessable only by me and my wife.

Please help in identifiying which application you believe should not be installed due to being pirated. I do thank you for your time and do hope you can assist with my efforts in removing any software that is not legally installed. If I may ask a question, is there any applications that can be purchased to monitor system activity such as software installations?

Thank you again for your time and patience.

    Wm.

You're welcome, all I can say is that your timing was just proper for me :)
I cannot promise the same promptly timing in the future unfortunately.

The hosts file shows bypass entries for Adobe & Malwarebytes.
To restore the hosts file to the default without any modifications, please read this post

Please ask your kids what activity they've done on the system, there is likely to be more illegal stuff on your pc that I cannot find out.

I found a possible way for logging installations, but I want to test it first with a reason that what I found is several years old. I need to confirm that it actually works properly on Windows 10 to prevent your system from getting accidental problems.
What I found is a registry change, adding an entry in the registry.
As you may know, changing something in the registry could give serious problems, like an unbootable system. To prevent problems, specific instructions are required where we need to know what the result is with Windows 10.

OK, I can confirm it works properly on a clean Windows 10586 installation (the version you have) without any problem. However as was stated on the site it works on MSI installations (installers with .msi extension) only.

An alternative is Revo Uninstaller (it is a compare link so you're aware of features), with this program any installer can be monitored of what changes it has made so you also know what programs have been installed :)
Simply right click an installer and choose 'install with Revo Uninstaller'
