    BSOD on startup, Kernel Security Check Failure (ntoskrnl.exe)


    I got a BSOD as I powered up the system. Got Kernel Security Check Failure (ntoskrnl.exe). it's a brand new ssd and new installation. Attachment 96641

    MB: GA-H55M-D2H
    CPU: Intel i3 540 3.07ghz
    Ram: 4gb ddr3 1333
    GPU: nvidia 8400gs
    OS: windows 10 pro

    Hello lex23 and welcome to TenForums :)

    I notice that you have a fairly old motherboard and it is not supported for W10. Now in practice this does not mean it will not run but does mean that there may be difficulties which Gigabyte will not be able to help with by supplying new drivers. In general the windows supplied drivers work well for most systems.

    It is best to have the most up to date BIOS. Yours is dated 2010 and I notice that there is a newer version (F4) available from 2012. This might help. Follow the advice on the Gigabyte website to update your BIOS.
