    BSOD bad_system_config_info, Creating recovery drive


    hi. I've got a bad_system_config_info BSOD.

    What I've tried:
    - booting in safe mode
    - system restore - drive corrupted message
    - reset this pc - error: there was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.

    I'm running a 'create recovery drive' from another win10 machine. I have a 4gb usb stick however the requirement stated 'at least 4gb'. It has been going for 45 minutes and is slow progress. Is there a way to burn this onto DVD instead? Is there any other solution to this problem?

    BAD_SYSTEM_CONFID_INFO (Stop 0x74) is a result of either of these .....
    • A corrupt windows installation
    • Messed up registry
    • A virus infection
    • Failing RAM
    • Failing HDD.

    You need to make it sure that the hardware components are not involved in it. Because if hardware components are involved, other troubleshooting will not reach anywhere. So do the tests at first.

    Test your RAM modules for possible errors. Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

    If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.
    Take a camera snap of the memtest86+ window before closing the program. Let us see it.

    Test the HDD with a bootable Disk check utility. Seatools for DOS does the job very well.

    You can download and prepare both the tools in that other computer and use on this one.

    If the hardware components are not failing, then a Clean Install will be the easiest solution.
