BSOD Kernel_Security_Check_Failure in Windows 10
I have had the kernel check failure error on occasion ever since I updated to Windows 10 last year; as it has been so long, I do not believe I can revert to Windows 7 to fix this problem.
Recently it has begun doing this more frequently and whenever I watch videos, playing games through Steam or installed on my computer, or am simply sitting with a Firefox browser open. Yesterday the kernel error happened 3 times. When it does this, it says it's collecting data and restarts afterwards, but it goes to a black screen with a flashing dash and I have to restart it manually. The computer does start up properly after I shut it down with the power button from the flashing dash screen and turn it back on.
I have tried some things to fix this as I found through google searches on the topic:
- Installed new drivers for my NVIDIA GeForce 620 so that they are Windows 10 drivers. File name for the drivers is: 353.62-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql (it did the kernel error while I was installing the drivers and I had to reinstall it to make sure it worked properly, which it appears to be doing.)
- Ran sfc /scannow and it found errors but couldn't fix them
- Ran DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and found an error: 0x800f0906
- Ran DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup and still found errors it couldn't fix.
I feel as though I am out of options to fix this on my own, but I want to see if I can get some help here rather than have to take it to a computer support technician.
Please let me know what information you will need to help me fix this, thank you.
