I meant kinda both hardware and software. If I put an incompatible stick of Ram in would it blow my motherboard?
Well I took one of my sticks out and am running on 8GB now. Lets see how things run this weekend.

It would not cause any hardware failure or something, but it could cause system instability due to various of things like timing problems. Of course you could use a stick that isn't on the list, but the best would be using memory that is on the memory compatibility list or support list.
Ok, its just that I have an old computer that's just sitting there like a doorstop and It has a couple sticks in it and I thought about trying them out.
You could give it a shot, the actual chance that it causes problems is relatively small assuming it wouldn't throw errors with any memtest :)
I'll find the slot stick and slot that causes the least problems first, then I'll add the other ram to the mix and see what happens
Well I thought things were good, I played all this morning and not a peep. Then got on again this after noon and not a minute after I logged on (game crash), so I logged back on (BSOD-Memory Management). So I guess the first slot is not a good one after all. Is there any official time period I should wait or can I move my stick to the next slot now?
Here is a link to the dump file if you want to check it out
MEMORY12.DMP - Google Drive
Well I have moved the first stick from the first slot to second to third, to forth to outta there.
Now the second stick is in the first slot.
Just so we are on the same page when it comes to crashes I am counting when then game crashes, BSOD's or both.
