    Random Freezes

    Hello all,

i had a similar issue a while back but thought i had fixed it (i was on windows 7 then) my computer basically seizes up at VERY random times. Sometimes i'll be booting and when i get in it'll freeze, other days it'll not crash at all (in weeks!) and then other times i'm playing a game and it'll just freeze on me. During that time everything becomes unresponsive, cannot continue talking to friends to try to ctrl+alt+del. Nothing works apart from a hard reset.

Would like some assistance with this issue, have attached my file.

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have other mouse/keyboard you could use instead of Razer? Razer isn't always very stable with drivers & software.

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Please check your SSD for firmware updates

Please uninstall Avast and use Windows Defender as alternative while troubleshooting Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal

Please run CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID, open it and make screenshots of the following tabs
    • CPU
    • Mainboard
    • Memory
    • SPD*
    • Graphics

*SPD shows the details of each module, you can show the details by choosing different slots in the left upper corner.
Please make screenshots of each module.

Please post each screenshot in your next reply/replies.

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install the same drivers you currently have installed. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver, you can use this tutorial to do so NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems - Windows 7 Help Forums

     System File Check

    Please try following:
    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at %systemroot%\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Make a photo of SFC and post it.

Please fill in your system specs
Please follow this tutorial and download the tool. The tool will give you detailed information about your system specs, please fill in your system specs more completely including PSU, cooling and other used stuff. PSU, cooling and other used stuff are NOT mentioned in the tool.

Sorry i took a while to reply, here is everything you have asked so far from me.

I dont have another mouse i can use right now but i do know that this problem started long AFTER i got the mouse, i'm talking about 1-2 years.

I've removed the majority of the startup items.

SSD is up to date according to samsungs magician software.

I've uninstalled avast for now and i'm using Windows Defender for now.

    Below are all the screenshots requested from CPU-Z;

    CPU: http://puu.sh/pqcMm/20ee8a8a8c.png

    MAINBOARD : http://puu.sh/pqcNW/0694c00074.png

    SLOT4: http://puu.sh/pqcYZ/301469fd98.png

    GRAPHICS: http://puu.sh/pqd0u/b167457ff5.png

I uninstalled all related nvidia softwares uding DDU and have installed the same version as requested (installing only the graphics driver and physX driver)

System file check came with the same error on both "sfc/scannow" results. I have uploaded the file to google drive

    CBS.log - Google Drive

I hope all this helps, thanks again for your time!

Please remove the Corsair sticks and ensure that the memory is properly seated according to the user manual of your motherboard, running mixed memory is simply bad as it can cause problems either immediately or in a matter of time.

If you would like to have the corruption repaired, please follow below instructions, the corruption isn't critical in the way that it does not affect the system in any way.

Please try following command in admin command prompt
    Code:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If there are problems with RestoreHealth, please follow step 6 or 7 (depending on the file you have from the download) from the tutorial DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Tutorial

I've reseated the memory. I'll be keeping an eye out for any freezes from now on. Should i upload another DM LOG if another crash occurs?
