    Kernel_security_check_failure

Nineteen days of BSODS with the this warning.
    Started with a cumulative update.
Have not gotten a solution, yet.

Windows 10 (64), with all the latest (updated) programs, versions, and drivers, and I ran every conceivable scan to detect issues, without finding a clue to the next step. Have not seen my particular problem solved, yet.

Happens when I am either in personal mail account (through Firefox 46.0.1) and I click through emails or it happens when I open certain kinds of websites (those I would open from inbox, anyway). Never had a BSOD using MS Office and I never had a BSOD when opening petitions (for instance) or reading newspapers, magazines, Twitter, shopping websites, etc.

I opened mail using IE today and haven't had a crash, where I would have three times already, if I was in outlook.com.

Sorry about the dump - it shows that there's data in it.

    Thank you.

    Trying again.

I am constantly banished (denied) from opening even the most innocuous folder, file, or program. I constantly have to reset, change, or add the security settings to open, copy, read (or anything else) or drag. Something has been terribly wrong since I upgraded to Win10 in January. If you see anything about Permissions, please let me know.

Don't know what happened - the description still shows that there's data - maybe I didn't allow you to even view this?
(See above.) If I could figure out how to delete the other one, I would. This is memory.dmp.

    Thank you.

    Struggling with everything

Permissions are screwed up - it's not that I don't know how to use it. (Since upgrade to 10 - for instance - Notepad sits on desktop with a yellow Access Denied message, which I read is not usual. What the solution is - tbd.)

Still trying to fix files, so I deleted some older dumps and collected a new DM Log. Whatta program!

Will go back and read your responses, as I just scanned. I've been trying to figure out why the upload is so difficult.

Very unusual, instead of putting a My PC on my desktop, it scooped everything into an SFDebug folder, which has everything but the kitchen sink in it - and I wonder why the data in this list was never created in the four previous DM logs/folders. At any rate, I collected the past two days of dumps and then I think I collected everything else into three separate compressed folders. If you think you are missing anything, I'll go over it again. I cannot send the entire SF Debug, as it opens into many separate folders/files.

The other thing that is brand new today, is that there is an Event Log called Blue Screen. Since May 14, I have never seen the blue screen referenced in the logs. (The only thing that I've changed or done new was reinstalling a clean Firefox version last night.)

    Thank you.

FYI, the DM Log Collector collects the data and puts it in a zip so you only have to upload the zip. There is no need to create another zip for whatever you would think is required because the zip (normally) contains everything we need.

Please remove following programs to prevent more problems

    Start Menu\Programs\Driver Booster 3	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Driver Booster 3	Public

    Start Menu\Programs\IObit Uninstaller	Public:Start Menu\Programs\IObit Uninstaller	Public
    Start Menu\Programs\Smart Defrag	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Smart Defrag	Public
    warning   Warning
Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with Driver Booster 3, please remove them as it may cause trouble.

I would recommend that you use a system restore point to undo the changes all these programs have made.

It seems ASUS does not provide support for any other OS than 7, this means that you may have compatibility problems with Windows 10.

Please check Windows Update in the settings for updates and check if there are any errors encountered while trying to install updates.
Your system should have a few more hotfixes installed for the age of installation.
    Code:
    Hotfix(s): 4 Hotfix(s) Installed.

    Axe0,

The reason I separated the zip is because I could not upload the file as is - my computer opened to the next level all by itself, no matter how many times I tried to upload the entire zip. Why?

I hired and paid a tech $180 to choose, install, and run ASC and all the other Iobit programs, mentioned above. Driver Booster, all of them. Twenty-four drivers installed. He started by cleaning everything on Windows 7 and a few days into our marathon tech-a-thon, he upgraded me to Win 10. Holy crap.

The changes go back to the 3rd week of January - Do I restore back to the first time or wipe Win 10?
You make it sound as if I just did something recently, but does it change anything that this has been going on since then? How do I deal with this? If I go back to when my computer wasn't crashing, it was a few weeks ago. More questions than answers, although you are very clear.

With the "notification area," you would think that I'm informed about any update errors, but I already know that's it's a crappy app and doesn't tell you about failed updates. Not sure with Win 10 how to look for failed updates. Will check for hotfixes.

Is Perfect Uninstaller (small script or program) any good?

It's conceivable that this computer isn't equipped to handle Win10? That would be shocking. I'll call Asus....

I"m sure I have more questions.
    Awesome work, though, Axe0.
    Thank you.

That is a tech who doesn't do its job right, many normal users with not much knowledge of Windows know that IObit is very improper either by reviews or because of their own experience.

It would be better to clean install Windows 10 instead of using a restore point.

The logs tell if an update fail, but I want to know what update failed exactly :)
In the history of Windows Updates you can see what update failed.

I personally use Revo Uninstaller, it is a proper program that I've used to remove malware programs easily that would sometimes require a clean install to get rid of. It is also recommended by some other users that are quite well with Windows as most of the users around are.

It can handle W10, per the minimum requirements, ASUS just doesn't provide support for it.

Please do not hesitate to ask and I'll try to answer as many as possible :)

    More -

    Axe0,

The terminology you - the log - used is foreign to Win 10. Just ask!
Cumulative Update - Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3156421) failed to install.

We upgraded to 10 because I've been having issues with an HP AIO (almost new) since November - it's never been fixed. With Windows cutting off support for 7, he insisted. Can't argue with that logic.

I researched Total Care - but I focused on av/malware. I missed all the negative reviews, but I still run malwarebytes. I've never had a program like this. I rather fix my own screwups when I can, but some OEM troubleshooters are great. To be honest, I trusted this guy who had many great reviews.

Sometimes you gotta trust. Other than this drama, I don't get infections, I update when told, I don't download from strange places, I backup daily, etc. Except for this, my computer is perfectly healthy and operating beautifully. Right!

This man worked with me for over twenty hours and we still have MORE work to do. I sent him an email to warn him about ASC, to let him know I have big issues, and to ask him about Asus compatibility. Glad you clarified that it's not a compatibility issue per se .

To the BSODs, I mentioned to somebody that just before my system crashes, the webcam light flickers. He suggested that I make Flash ask to activate, so I changed the setting. Does that description ring a bell with you?

For my purposes, is there a difference for refresh or reset? This is my biz computer, so of course, I need Office Outlook and my golden .PST files.

Thank you for Revo Installer and for the fine little details.

IObit malwarefighter steals/stole the stuff from Malwarebytes what makes it 'good', Malwarbytes has proven this.
However, they cannot compete with Malwarebytes even when they're stealing from Malwarebytes.

The terminology you - the log - used is foreign to Win 10. Just ask!
I'm sorry, but I don't understand this line.

To be honest, I trusted this guy who had many great reviews.
They can easily get great reviews, from users who do not know what the techs are doing or why the techs are doing it.
It doesn't make them a great guy though.
I could easily mess with many computers in my neighbour, claim that I've done a great job by fooling them and get great reviews in no time.

With a refresh you keep settings, user data and user accounts, everything else is restored as to what you started with.
A reset is "Reset your PC prepares the PC for recycling or for transfer of ownership by reinstalling the OS, removing all user accounts and contents (e.g. data, Classic Windows applications, and Universal Windows apps), and restoring preinstalled customizations to their factory state."
From Reset Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Though I would recommend that you perform a clean install instead, you'll loose everything then but in many cases that is a + because many do not want the preinstalled stuff.
