Driver IRQL not Less or Equal - l1c63x64.sys

So these BSODs have been bugging me for quite a while now. Sometimes they just appear completely at random. I just had a 2 month clean go, and then it came back 3 times in 2 days.
At other times, they seem to link with windows update, which goes like this:

    • I get a notification, saying there are updates available, and my PC will be rebooted when "I'm not using it".
    • I open the notification, and set the reboot date to a couple days in the future, because I shut my PC down every night, so it should update at that moment, when I'm not using it (since I shut it down myself).
    • At a random time after I've done this, the BSOD appears. I'm guessing this would be the moment that Windows would've updated by itself normally.

I have tried updating all my drivers (which I found to be the go-to solution online), but to no avail.

I really hope you guys can help me out, because this is getting pretty annoying.

    Tim

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Please remove BullGuard and use Windows Defender as alternative
Uninstall BullGuard Desktop Protection - Uninstall - BullGuard

    Code:
Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\afw.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for afw.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for afw.sys

     System File Check

    Please try following:
    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at %systemroot%\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.
Make a photo of SFC and post it.

Could you give me a specific reason for this? I understand that having programs run at boot can slow stuf down, but since my BSOD is not related to booting up, I'm not quite sure why this would affect me.

Could you (again) give me a specific reason for this? The version of Bullguard I'm using is not a trial version, or adware, it's a bought, full version, so I'd rather keep that running.

I'm running SFC as I'm typing this. I did however run it earlier today (found the suggestion online somewhere), but it told me there were no errors found. I'll edit this bit of text if it finds trouble now though.

    Edit:
So i ran SFC twice: First time: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
Rebooted, ran it again: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

So basically, SFC is telling us nothing.

I'm not quite sure if this advice is a general thing you have in every message, or if it's specifically pointed at me. As far as I know, this laptop does not have mixed memory (as far as RAM goes). I bought it of the shelve, and only had a specialist fit an extra SSD for me, which should be perfectly fine.

I do however appreciate the advice and effort you put in to this, thank you.

    I'll gladly answer your questions

    1. Startup items: many aren't necessary and can be removed/disabled from the startup, it is just for improving system stability though it sometimes is also specific for BSOD troubleshooting. I often start with trying to improve system stability in many ways to reduce the chance of more problems in the future.

    2. BullGuard caused the crashes, the code I posted is about a firewall driver of Agnitum being flagged in the dumps meaning it caused the crash. Agnitum is a part of BullGuard. I understand you would want to keep it, my suggestion is only for the time of troubleshooting, after you confirm that the problem is gone you could install BullGuard again and see if a reinstallation helps as it often does

    3. The mixed memory is specific, I posted code that shows some information about your memory where we can see that your memory is from Hynix/Hyundai & Kingston + the models aren't the same (of course they aren't the same with different manufacturers). If I were you I would go back to the store and let them check the memory. The dumps show what the memory contained at the time of the crash and cannot lie about such a thing, because the system loads the information in the memory.

    1. Agreed, but I do think I'm only running things I use every day, and would not like to start manually (Dropbox, f.lux, chrome extensions like a mail checker, etc.).

    2. Well that's just marvelous.. Wouldn't be the first time Bullguard gave me issues. Too bad I've got a long running license with them. I've uninstalled BG, and set up windows firewall and defender. Quite curious to see if that really does it.

    3. I just remembered I also had my RAM upgraded when I bought this laptop, so that might be what's going on here. How bad is running different makes? I've not really bumped into issues as far as I know.

    1. It isn't a big deal fortunately as those services aren't corrupted or something

    2. I haven't seen BullGuard causing much issues, though mainly because it isn't a lot used by users around.

    3. It can depend on quite some things, some have much luck and won't notice any problems, others keep getting BSODs only because they added 1 stick which isn't even faulty.
I've helped a user who had mixed memory as the main cause, it was very difficult to find that though. The BSODs were pointing to memory corruption but memory corruption knows various of causes so we ruled out almost all of the possibilities in an extended period of time, some possibilities were tried a few times. After a very long period of troubleshooting the removal of 1 added memory stick was the final resolution.

Well I never had much issues with BG either, until I went to a new school, which had some servers and printers online, which I couldn't access with BG enabled. BG helpdesk eventually fixed it after a long time.

About the memory, let's hope that's not the case for me. It can be of course, but since this issue only came up later, I'm hoping it's not.

Thank you for your help so far, I'll let you know if removing BG has fixed the issue.
