I gave my PC a hard boot again to check if the check disk utility made it work but now I can't manage to boot into the system. As I had an opportunity, I opened my PC and tried to find where the clocking noise was coming from I realised that it wasn't a clocking noise from my hard drive but it was a short repeated beeping from the system speaker. What error has my PC encountered?Doing a quick research I got that my memory may not have been correctly installed as it was a short continuous beeping, let me go and try reinserting the memory sticks

Nope, that didn't work, the speaker is still giving continuous short beeps and I still can't access my computer . I tried to insert the two memory sticks into the other two slots but they don't go in easily so I gave up. Anything else I can try?

I think I may have misread the beep code meanings and the continuous short beep could mean power unit failed? I hope that is not the case. Can someone confirm that for me and can you please advise how I can recover the power supply if that is the case.

I'm afraid I can't troubleshoot the PC right now as it doesn't even go past the POST section.

How many beeps do you hear and what is their rhythm?

They are short, continuous beeps every 2.5 seconds. The beeps are rather low and quiet when compared to the normal single beep.

I MAY have fixed it. After doing a bit of research, I found out that I should change the RAM stick configuration, I moved the RAM sticks from DDR3_1 and DD3_3 to DDR3_2 and DDR3_4, the PC boots up like a charm and doesn't even freak out when I give it a hard boot. Will changing the memory stick configuration cause any problems? Or is just fine as long as it works? I can't definitely tell if the problem has gone but still, thank you for taking time to help me solve this issue.

It shouldn't cause any trouble, the BIOS should detect the changes and apply the memory settings automatically. If it doesn't you need reset the BIOS (load optimal default settings)
