I've been running my "new computer" for over a week with the new 4-stick 16 GB matched RAM and I'm pleased to report all is good, no issues whatsoever.

My appreciation goes out to all of you who have assisted me along the way!

The only 'question mark' hanging over my desktop is the two 'Drive Failure warnings' Windows 10 gave me. Brink helped me with that and suggested it may just be a "false positive." On his suggestion I have acquired a new SATA cable for the secondary HDD the warning were for, but will wait until or if another warning presents itself before replacing it. So far there have been no further issues.

Thanks for letting us know. I think I can speak for all, that we are glad you have your computer running well. That's very good news. As far as your hard drives, Follow Brink's advice. It could be a false positive or a problem with the hard drive's reporting. Most drives have SMART technology (Self Monitoring And Reporting). There are programs that can read that and it could be a problem with their reporting. I would just keep a close check on it and make sure I had good backups. Thanks again for letting us know the results.

Yep, Macrium has separate backups of both partitions on that drive and I'm not making any changes on it for the time being. I will wait another week or 2 before going back to using it. And for sure will be continuing with regular backups.

CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World
The above will give you some prima facie idea about the health of the disk. We should not apply conventional disk check tools for a SSD, so I am not suggesting anything of those.
If the SMART readings are good, and still you get more of that drive failure warning, let us know.

On another note, Norton is better than Defender.... that is not a true statement but just a horrid internet fad. I know lots of Defender/MSE users who never complained for neither virus nor BSOD; but I know (and helped) more lots of Norton users who complained for both. Website created rankings are greatly influenced by advertising and other revenue, those are not any reliable. Ask for user (not owner, but user) satisfaction on both.

Thanks to you too essenbe; In my Google searches I learned that Windows 10 does this without a USB drive, nice to have the details from you. :)
My issue here is the old XP Notebook a friend gave to me (rather than the dumpster) to run my 3rd party legacy software; it occurred to me I really shouldn't be moving files from my desktop machine to the notebook - which will remain offline - without first being sure it was totally clean.

Off to my next task!
