I just checked again and the last nvidia driver update from Toshiba for my laptop was in late December and I have it installed. It was working fine until the other day.
You installed this driver some time ago right? If that is true, what do yo mean with the marked part?

Why all of a sudden wouldn't it work? I am confused. If Toshiba didn't put out a new driver update shouldn't everything still be working fine??
There can be many reasons why something doesn't work, I'm no expert so I can't clarify why your system crashed.

What marked part? I am confused by what you asked. I never mentioned a marked part. I am saying the last driver update from Toshiba was in late December and I have it installed. You are telling me it is outdated. I don't understand how, if there is not a new update for over 3 months now.

I marked a part of your text in the quote, that is where I'm referring to.

All I wrote was that it worked fine until the other day.

My question is that how can these drivers be outdated if Toshiba hasn't given us an update in 3 months? That is what I am confused about since you wrote that the drivers are outdated. That doesn't make sense to me and I am confused. Hopefully you can explain that to me because I trust your knowledge.

Let me explain a bit more. I assume you've installed the drivers some time ago, because the drivers Toshiba provided are some months ago released. If that is correct than I don't understand what you mean with 'it worked the other day'.

About the outdated part, I forgot you have a laptop and was as a standard thing thinking about a desktop for which it is outdated.

I meant that there had been no BSOD's at all until the other day when it happened for the 1st time since December. Then it happened this morning also but for some reason I can't find the dump file for that one on my laptop.

Secondly, now that you know I have a laptop and the current driver (yes it is 3 months old but there is not a new driver update since), what does that mean about my laptop getting 2 BSOD's??? Is there something wrong all of a sudden with the driver or is it really "outdated"??

It could be the driver became corrupted or something.

    Hmmm, interesting.

    You are awesome!!

By the way, what did the dump file tell you exactly about the nvidia drivers since they aren't outdated as you said earlier? Just that they are the cause of the BSOD??

Also where is the PhysX driver you want me to install after I uninstall the nvidia stuff?? It isn't anywhere in the Toshiba driver updates, just the December NVidia driver that I already have installed that I will reinstall once I uninstall everything. Thx

The dump simply showed the nvlddmkm as a cause.

What I posted is my template for handling the nvidia drivers, in most cases it is being used for desktops.
The drivers for the desktop are an install package which contains some more drivers, only a few of them are required. There it is mainly for, I don't know how it is with laptops so I keep it to be sure I'm not missing anything.
