    Windows 10 BSOD: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION asmtxhci.sys

Windows automatically updated last night and this morning I get BSOD with the message SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION asmtxhci.sys after starting up and logging in to any of my accounts. This doesn't happen in safe mode. Any ideas what I should do?

    Here's my log

    Attachment 68639

    Thanks!

It is ASMedia USB3 driver that is causing the issue.
    Code:
    BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, fffff800992ae064, ffffd00023723fc0, 0}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for asmtxhci.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for asmtxhci.sys
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for asmthub3.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for asmthub3.sys
    Probably caused by : asmtxhci.sys ( asmtxhci+1e064 )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
The motherboard does not list any ASMedia USB3 driver for download.
    P8Z77-V LK | Motherboards | ASUS Global

But it contains the chipset drivers there.

I would suggest you to .....
First, download both the IME and Chipset drivers listed under Chipset.
Next, let us see the USB configuration of the board .... So there are four Intel USB3 ports there. Use those for now.. Dont use the ASMedia ports till ASUS release some drivers for it.

See how it goes. Let us know.

I thought I'd give the ASMedia USB3 Windows 8 64bit driver a go and it has worked! Thanks for identifying the problem for me!

Well, if that worked then it is good. Let us know for any further issue, if any.
