restored system to undo everything attempted here. Using ONLY the drivers from Lenovo... any attempt to update or install any display driver causes same BSOD.

I really appreciate everyone's help trying to figure this out.

Your current installation is an upgrade I understand from your OP description?
My suggestion would be to backup your data a.s.a.p. and perform a clean install to see if that improves stability.

Yes, it was an upgrade. After an entire day of dealing with this I concur. Thank you.

Completed clean install of win10. Intel HD Graphics 4000 was listed under display adapters without having to install it. Driver date (8/17/2015) was newer than the one on the Lenovo site (7/6/2015), but because the caution symbol was still on the device I installed the driver from Lenovo site. Successfully installed driver without BSOD. YAY! Driver date was June 2015 so I searched online for a new driver and it found one dated 7/15/2015. Close enough! Caution symbol still on display device but that seems to be a separate issue from the BSOD. Thanks all!

    POST SOLVING THOUGHT...

The persistent "caution symbol" on the display adapter (also on the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller and storage spaces controller)... apparently it is NOT a caution symbol but is an indication of a PCI connection. See Solved Meaning of Warning Icons in Device Manager - Windows 10 Forums

That's good news. I just checked and I also have the small PCI symbol on my EVGA GeForce GTX 750.
