    Another DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION victim

Yet another DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION Stop Error 0x0..133 victim. I just wanted to know more information on what this is and if any remedy can be found. I have An Acer E5-721-80EE laptop that I updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 late last year. I also reset the laptop by reinstalling Windows 10, in order to get rid of all the Acer bloatware, and everything has been working fine. Until recently, I have become a victim of the DPC Watchdog Violation Stop Error, that I see occurs frequently to many pc users. My laptop boots up fine to desktop and generally works great, but then all of sudden my desktop freezes, and then I get a BSOD screen stating my pc has stopped working and needs to restart, stating the dreaded DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION Stop error. It doesn't happen all the time but it's starting to happen more frequently. Any debugging help from the Win10 Forum would be appreciated.

    AMD Quad-Core Processor A8-6410

Thanks for getting back so soon axe0. I gather I'm in need of a driver update for the Atheros Network Adapter because of the above driver "athw8x.sys", found in t;he bugcheck. I did go to the Acer website and they have many drivers for update. I'm just a little confused on which one or ones I should update. I also need help on the best way to update a driver. Thanks again for the help.

Simplest is to just install all network (lan) drivers?

How so? You simply click the executable and follow the onscreen instructions.

Thanks again, axe0. The pc has been working fine lately and when I go to update driver using device manager it says all devices working ok and says I have the most up to date drivers. What I think I'm going to due is wait until I get another BSOD event and send you the file for further debugging, to see if it's the same cause. Then I'll update the problematic driver then. Thanks again.

My SSD uses software (drivers are software ) dating 2006 according to device manager, I never updated the firmware and as it looks now won't do it very soon even though there are some available, and device manager says it is up to date.

Device manager isn't the best way to check for driver updates, rarely it does update drivers.
The best way to update drivers is by downloading the drivers from Acer (in your case), double click (or single click, depending on your settings for opening a file) the executable and follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
It is pretty much the same as with other software you would install,
    You open the executable
You follow the on-screen instructions and sometimes you need to be careful that you don't install something that comes with the installation but is unwanted. With driver installations you can usually quickly go through the installation as there is nothing else coming with the installation.
