The tested speed is 2400MHz, but the SPD is 2133MHz according to the specs.

If you use XMP, do not use it and test your system without XMP.

That's a really misleading advertisement from Corsair. even the product number includes '2400' and the SPD is mentioned only once on the whole page. Never though I would have such an issue with such a small overclock while using ram and motherboard both advertised as overcklocker products. that's really poor...

I did suggest to remove all overclocking in page 1, even the littlest can cause problems in an unstable system.

Yes and I did it for the troubleshooting purpose. Strange that I did not have a bsod afterwords. I assumed a driver issue and decided to make a clean install of windows 10, took me half a day. Assuming everything is normal now I switched the ram to XMP during one of the reboots. As always the bsod came some time later and showed up as a freeze resulting in a reboot. I switched XMP to auto again but at least now I know there's no driver issue. The installation is couple of hours old with minimum driver only. The bsod cause must be the ram or the motherboard, no other choice.

Switch XMP completely off, it is still a possibility when it is set to auto.

I can only choose between XMP, manual and auto. The auto selection sets the settings to SPD, XMP is off in this case. How to test the stability of the system in this case?

There are some ways to test your system, depending on what you want to test however memory is tested outside Windows so not a real stress test. Memory is tested outside Windows to make sure no memory is reserved by the system so the complete memory can be tested.
Normally I would suggest to simply use the system as it is without any further modifications.

What really seems strange, if the system was unstable with SPD it should somehow crash but it doesn't. It seems solid on SPD but not on XMP, although the difference is so small. That's really weird, never had such an issue before. almost miss my rock solid z97 build.

I wouldn't think it is actually weird, I explained why (overclocking part earlier) :)

Such a small overclock shoul be possible even with the cheapest entry models, motherboard as well as ram. Ram is tested until 2666 and motherboard even over 3400. so what's the real bottleneck here, the cpu?! This is what I find weird.
