    BSOD Crash from driver_irql_not_less_or_equal_(net10.sys)

This BSOD is driving me nuts. It appears halfway thru a movie then doesn't show for hours. It says it is check 100% and will restart but it does not. I manually reboot the pc and then it will be good for an indeterminate amount of time. It's like a letter from the IRS, it shows up when you least expect it.
I searched on line and I get suggestions like reinstall Windows, check for newly installed hardware (don't have any), or purge dump file (don't know what that means).
    PLEASE HELP
