DPC Watchdog BSOD every couple of weeks

This is very elusive and began happening after upgrading to Win 10 from 8.1 within a week of its general release. 8.1 never BSOD'ed on me, Win 10 is when it started.

Out of the blue, the system will suddenly freeze (unable to move mouse pointer) and then a few seconds later go BSOD. Or I can literally be out of the room and come back to find a BSOD. Seems totally random, but apparently not specifically related to any action taken on my part since it might blow up when I'm not even in the room. (and there is no cat here to be messing with me behind my back, as cats are known to do. lol.)

Frequency of occurrence is every couple of weeks.

I have run memtest86+ without fail multiple times. Motherboard is an ASUS Maximus VI and I have all the latest mobo/chipset drivers installed from ASUS' website, as well as Intel's website. I have checked/installed 3rd party drivers for just about all I can think of, but without any luck. In particular, I've been through several NVIDIA updates (and do not run their beta drivers) so I'm pretty much ruling out the video. Most other stuff changes very infrequently.

Knowing whether anything I do has been effective can take a couple of weeks to determine since it can take that long for it to BSOD again.

I have WinDbg86 installed and I can look at the minidump files, but all they tell me is, "Probably caused by : Unknown_Image ( ANALYSIS_INCONCLUSIVE )" which is certainly no help at all.

I'm hoping something in all the info dm_log_collector gathers might shed some light on the issue, and that someone who has looked at this stuff long enough will have a better idea where and what to look at to actually find the problem.

    Thanks!

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

    Please update the audio drivers

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

An important thing, there are many outdated drivers.
Below is the list of outdated drivers, some don't have a reference to the Driver Reference Table.
Please update/reinstall as many as possible, some might need to be removed because there aren't any updates anymore.
NOTE: some are removed when ASUS software is removed

    Hello axe0,

Thank you for the detailed reply. I'm sorry I have not even been able to acknowledge it before now. Busy beyond belief!

I did look this over carefully when first received and took some action. In particular, I uninstalled some of the ASUS crap that has not really added value to this system, and I also uninstalled a rather old Hercules Webcam suite of drivers and software. The latter had a fairly dubious set of drivers as I recall.

As for the big list of drivers at the bottom of your post, it will take some time to wade through it and figure out which is for what. Some may already be gone as a result of the aforementioned uninstalls.

Starting from the top of your post,

    • cm11264.sys is not found on the page linked from the Driver Reference Table.
    • If I get another BSOD, I will try the Display Driver Uninstaller; however, I alwaysperform a clean install when upgrading NVIDIA drivers, and I endeavor to keep the driver current.
    • The Intel website states, "There are currently no downloads available for iastora.sys" and its own automatic driver update utility states that all (Intel) drivers are up to date.

So with hopes that what I've already done may have fixed this somewhat infrequent BSOD, I'll just plod along and attack the big list of drivers should issues persist. If after a couple of further iterations to solve this I am still getting no joy, I will post back with a fresh set of debug files.

    Thank you!
