    Need help troubleshooting intermittent BSODs

    Hi all, this is my first post here. I need a little help with some problems I've been having in recent months; intermittent crashes and BSODs, the latest one occurring this afternoon.

    The problems arise mostly with two fractal art programs that I use. By their nature these math based programs are demanding of resources and CPU power. Just working with them in a normal way can prompt the PC to suddenly and unceremoniously fall over (didn't happen on my former PC).

    I don't always see or catch meaningful messages about the BSODs but here is a short list of some that I noted:
    Jan 14 2016: "System_Service_Exception"
    Nov 19 2015: "System_thread_exception_not_handled"
    Another occasion: "System Service Exception Win32kfull.sys"

    Last November I tried to resolve the issues myself by trying a clean install of Windows 10 (plus the big Nov update to v1511), letting Windows Update locate and install all drivers and keeping things as simple as I could for a short while (minimal program installs). This didn't seem to help much.

    Today, using DM Log Collector, I have gathered the tech info required and am uploading it with this post. It looks like it includes several mini dumps from the last couple of months. I'm hoping someone can help identify what the problem/s may be.

    I am an experienced and competent PC user but not especially technically minded.
    I hope I have provided enough info to start with. System spec is in my profile.
    OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

    Thanks for any help you can offer!

    DifferentBSOD.
    Out of 6 memory dumps there were 4 different BSOD error codes.

    The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
    - faulting (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problemdevice)
    - BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
    - overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. Please stop at least during troubleshooting.
    - compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
    - low-level driver/system problems within windows (SFC/DISM)
    - or even malware/virus.

    One dump mentioned even hardware
    Code:

    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************
    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    It happened during chaotica.exe. This one of the art programs you named. Are you using a specific device connected to a USBport for this program.

    You have Bios version 1203, The latest version is 2101 from 06-01-2016 with improve system stability
    (there were 6 bios versions after yours all with improve system stability) Strong advice update.

    Also update these older drivers to the latest windows 10 versions from your support page https://www.asus.com/support/Downloa...Lgo82aUWwW/45/
    Asus Probe utility under Utility
    iastor.sys is Intel Rapid Storage driver under Sata
    Intel Gigabit Adapter under LAN
    Realtek High Definition Audio
    Also check/update if you have the latest chipset drivers.

    Your Geforce drivers are from aug 2015 update to the latest version.

    There could be problems with your systemfiles.

    Use SFC to check and repair windows systemfiles.

    See this tutorial
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-windows-8-a.html
    Note
    If SFC could not fix something, then run the command again to see if it may beable to the next time. Sometimes it may take running the
    sfc /scannow command 3 times restarting the PC after each time to completely fix everything that it's able to.

    If not, then run the
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth command to repair any component store corruption, restart the PCafterwards, and try the sfc /scannowcommand again.

    @ChrisM, you need to remove every crack and related software before more support may be provided

    Yes that is one of the programs I use but it does not require any hardware device. I'm mystified by this one. The only USB devices I use regularly is mouse and keyboard (both wireless dongle thingies) and printer. Occasionally I plug in other USB devices like external hard drive, a monitor calibration instrument, Kindle eReader and the occasional USB pen drive. I doubt any of these were present while I was using Chaotica. I will monitor USB use a little more closely for a while anyway.

    You mention a lot of things I could look into and kindly provided links to things. This is so helpful, thank you. I'm going to have a good old clear out and will start again. I will brave my fears about BIOS updates and tackle that and will try and locate all of the latest drivers and so on.

    If I have any further trouble (I wouldn't be surprised but you never know!) I will post again in this thread with some fresh diagnostics. I'll probably be a while sorting this lot out! If things turn out to be more stable as a result of all this I will also add a little note in time.

    You've been really helpful, thank you so much!

    @axe0, I'm sorry if I broke the rules and you probably have a point there.

    Following the advice of another member I'm going to clean up my PC and try another fresh install/start, I really want to try and get to the bottom of these problems.
