Rather confused by these results at the moment. To me it suggests an issue with the motherboard? or can it still be software related? i did update my nvidia drivers yesterday if that makes a difference.

That's what I thought at first but I am testing ram 2 on a third slot now and it has been running for 30 minutes without errors whereas On the other two slots it showed errors immediately. I guess I'll just wait the 8 passes and if it doesn't error we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
Just to make you aware of it, the frequency and voltage of the memory could also cause errors to show up so make sure they are proper.
I have to be honest I am not entirely sure what frequency or voltage the Ram should be running at?
The frequency and voltage your memory supports, you can check it in the manual of Corsair (the manufacturer of your memory)
Copy that, I'll have a play around once this test is done.
The RAM has been running on incorrect settings, I have changed that so it is now correct, and have just placed both Sticks back in the rig and am currently doing a memtest on the both of them 80% into the first pass and I have already found 6 errors (which is surprisingly low considering other failed tests have yealded in the 1000s) should I cancel the test and restart the whole process of checking each stick in each slot individually?
Sorry for all this hassle and stupid questions everyone I really appreciate the help.
