    Various BSODs every few days

Hello I have been getting random BSODs for the past couple weeks, been trying to figure it out on my own but I feel like it is time to ask for some help.

Recently the BSOD had the error message KERNAL_SECURITY-CHECK-FAILURE. I rebooted with Driver Verifier and got the message DRIVER-VERIFIER-DETECTED-VIOLATION.

I've reinstalled various drivers and such with no luck so far. I only get a blue screen once every few days so it takes awhile to find out whether the problem is fixed.

Looking at BlueScreenView it looks like the problem files were different every time. afd.sys, rt640x64.sys, NTFS.sys, atikmdag.sys. Each one has ntoskrnl.exe though.

At this point I'm thinking some kind of hardware failure, years ago on a different computer when I had random BSODs it was caused by CPU failure but I'm not sure how to best narrow that down, or even if that is the right direction. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when the BSODs take place, I am usually able to use my computer for several days before one occurs.

Any help is much appreciated, over time I may be able to solve this on my own but I'm pretty overwhelmed right now so I didn't want to try to fix this alone anymore. Let me know if you need anything else.

I went ahead and ran 4 passes with memtest without any issues.

I was able to fix the boot device problem with "this one weird trick" where you boot up into safe mode and for some reason after you do that you can boot normally. I have no idea why.

I won't know for a few days if updating the bios fixed the bsod. I suppose I will check back in like a week or something depending on when/if another crash happens.

With a 0x7B crash I normally would expect that someone isn't able to boot into safe mode, you've surprised my with that even though it sometimes happens to help :)

Ok I said it might take awhile but I did get another BSOD. This time I was using google chrome in fullscreen and when I minimized it I noticed that my entire desktop was missing and had been replaced by just solid red. No taskbar, no icons, no start menu, just the color red. I hit ctrl alt delete and then it bluescreened with the message: page_fault_in_nonpage_area win32kfull.sys

I attached another one of the thingies cuz I assume maybe I needed to do that.

I'm gonna run the system file checker and see what happens cuz I haven't done that yet. I'll let you know how that goes.

okay. I ran the system file checker and it found like a million files that were corrupted that it could not repair. The instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 say that you can fix the corrupted files manually, but am I really supposed to do this for all like 100 corrupted files?

I went ahead an attached the results of the scan, but I will also be looking into how to fix this on my own. Maybe I'm supposed to use startup repair or something. I'm also wondering if this could be an indication of hard drive failure? I feel like it must be highly unusual to have this many corrupted files. Do I need to run chkdsk? I've been avoiding it since it can take days to run.

The corruption is the shortcuts in the folders
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools\ &
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\

This is a part of the corruption

Please try following command in admin command prompt
    Code:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If there are problems with RestoreHealth, please follow step 6 or 7 (depending on the file you have from the download) from the tutorial DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Tutorial
