    Happy New Year!

Good question. When all this started I did get a Blue Screen of Death but now it's a Black Screen of Death. It seems to happen when I leave it alone for several hours. I come back and both monitors are black, though the mouse pointer may be present and will move around the screen. I haven't found any keyboard that actions what will do anything. I have to do a power reset to get the machine back.

    Happy new year indeed

Do you have any setting in the power options that says to turn off the monitor or something after some time?
Don't forget to click 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' to see everything in the power options.

    Power plan Balanced

    I have:
Screen: When plugged in, turn of after 25 minutes.
Sleep: When plugged in, PC goes to sleep Never.

On the 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' page:
When I press the power button Shut Down
Password protection of wakeup Don't require a password

    Shutdown settings boxes checked
    Turn on fast start
    Sleep
    Lock

It was already set to do not sleep/hibernate. I just changed the monitor setting to stay on.

Had another "crash" last night. This time the screen didn't go black, perhaps because of the monitor setting I changed, listed above.

The symptom was I could move the mouse cursor around, but nothing worked. Like the black screen I mentioned above, but at least I could see the screens I had left open. I clicked and clicked, then got the little spinning O and a warning box appeared that said something like "Microsoft Windows nor responding, do you want to continue?"

Nothing worked, not clicking on the dialogue box, nether did Ctl-Alt-Del. I had to hit the power switch to reset it.

Nothing new in the dump files.

Dumps are only saved with a bluescreen.

What are the 3.3v, 5v and 12v values in the BIOS?

Please try to boot into safe mode and see if the problem still persist.
Safe mode is an easy way of determining if the problem is hardware related or software.

Thanks for your help. I was trying to get this done before a travel deadline, but I have run out of time. I imagine I'll revisit when I get back in a couple of months.

    Happy New Year!
