    Don't know the costumer only left it with us, didn't come to think of asking the age.

    But I think it was launched around the summer of 2015.

    Looking at the usual causes and the description, booting from cd/dvd problem, it looks like the BIOS is causing the problem.

    Well I can try to look for a BIOS update or flash it. I have to see what my boss is going to say, I mean the costumer also said that she won't mind if all data is lost.

    do you think a broken CMOS battery might cause this much trouble?

    because at every boot-up I have to put in the time and date.

    The time/date problem is 1 of the symptoms that the/a cause is the cmos battery.

    Yes 'a' cause, it is not for certain if there are more causes

    It usually is the battery, but no garantee from my side.

    Did a complete dis-assembly only to realize that there was no battery to be seen anywhere.. meh :/
