You have Intel and Nvidia video cards, are you switching between them?

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

Just woke up. Going out for a few hours then I will do what you say.

So what was the cause of that? Yes I have integrated Intel graphics 530 AND Nvidia 950M GTX Card. The crash happened when I used my Nvidia card to open GeForce Experience. Another one happened soon after when I used my Nvidia card to open Chrome. However, I disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome and it hasn't bsod yet. I opened Chrome still with the nvidia card and it hasn't crashed again.

It did this on my other computer also when I used my Nvidia card to open web browsers or other programs. Why Axe0?

Hardware acceleration is used to execute some functionality with hardware instead of software, this executes some functions faster then with software.

It is likely a bug with the hardware acceleration function.

So do I still need to do the install if that seemed to fix the problem?
What is this hardware acceleration supposed to do for us? Am I losing anything by disabling it?

    1. Just see how it goes.
    2. Is the description a little clear? It explains what hardware acceleration does in a short way.
You can find more information about hardware acceleration on Hardware acceleration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hey Axe, got another minidump - didn't do the nvidia suggestion you gave because you told me to see how it goes with the disabling hardware acceleration. Just happened an hour ago. What do you think?

    So frustrating.

Please help Axe0 - you are an expert on this. What is causing this one?

There is no dump in the zip, have you cleaned up the laptop?

I noticed the WHEA logger reports many corrected hardware errors.
Please check Toshiba for driver updates for the chipset drivers.

The dump file is there in my mini dump folder. How do I get that to be included in the log collector?

Plus Windows 10 did some big update which was super annoying. Took like 30 minutes and then my screen was black with a white curser. Couldn't figure out how to fix it until I did ctrl alt delete and was able to sign out. That restarted my laptop and then it restarted normally. Weird but I'm glad it worked.

Just right click the file > copy > zip and upload the zip.

For 1-time a single dump is good enough as the other files are present and reasonably recent :)

Hmmm, I guess after the windows 10 update that was installed, the dump files are all gone. That's why it wasn't in the log collection.

    Interesting.

Did you know that Axe0 - that if Windows does an update the dump files will disappear? Maybe the update fixed the issues with using the Nvidia card to open Chrome and others. Should I try it with the hardware acceleration enabled to see if I get a BSOD Driver Power State Failure?
