    BSOD while playing games

This weekend I had several BSODs while playing games. 2 times the system simply crashed black screen and restarted, 1 time I received a BSOD MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error, and 2 times I received a BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN error and a restart. The MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and one black screen crash occurred while playing Forged Alliance Supreme Commander, then the IRQL errors and a black screen crash occurred while playing Steam version of Age of Empires II. First time request, let me know if I can help more.

DM Log Collector file is attached.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Axol,

    Welcome to the 10forums.

Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD. Be sure to ONLY install the drivers using custom/advanced options.

I started the MemTest86 right after my last crash on Sunday 11/29 morning and let it run until Monday after work, it made 12 or 15 passes I can't remember which and had 0 errors. Do I need to run it again after updating the video drivers? I would assume not since it was testing the memory and motherboard and not the drivers?

OK, got home today, updated my system specs, and ran the driver uninstall using your linked software in safe mode. Then installed the newest driver from the AMD site. Then decided to try to see if I could get the same IRQL error, so I ran Mass Effect 2 this time and sure enough within about 5 minutes got the error. Attaching newest GM Log Collector file. Again, this is the BSOD from about 10 minutes ago, around 9:40PM December 2. Do you want me to clear out any logs, events, crash dumps, etc to make future ones easier to examine, and if so how do you want me to do that?

Did you ran MemTest86 or MemTest86+?
    If MemTest86, MemTest86+ is recommended for DDR3

Please let me know what the frequency and voltage of the memory is in the BIOS.
Please check inside the case for any dust, make sure everything is seated properly and that the contacts of the memory are clean.

So, ran this when I got home and no errors or weirdness as far as I could tell. Then ran Mass Effect 2 again and after a few minutes is BSOD out. My friend was kind enough to lend me his video card, an AMD Radeon R7 370. I went through the process you described earlier to completely remove the drivers, then restarted and installed again. After a restart I ran Mass Effect 2 again, and after about 10 minutes it BSOD out with the same IRQL error. Ran Furmark on this one and again no errors. I am venturing a guess my issue is with the motherboard or the processor. Any way to tell without pulling out the mobo and replacing it? Again, my friend was kind enough to lend me another mobo to try out if need be.

I suggest to try 2 stress tests for the CPU.
Prime95 isn't always able to spot problems when the IntelBurnTest is. No software is 100% :)
