A bug in the drivers most likely, what happens is that the GPU stops responding and windows tries to restart the driver.
The most common reason for this is that the graphics device is being overloaded or used beyond its capabilities.

Because there is too much timeout and windows can't recover it, you get this crash.

Do you think deleting all chrome and Firefox files and reinstalling then would fix the issue?

At the moment all other browsers including Edge are causing the crashes and the only working one appears to be IE. Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix this?

Please check for driver updates or downgrade the drivers.
Suggestion is above this line and previously mentioned

It's not really possible to downgrade AMD drivers as AMD doesn't store older driver versions. The only update possible is a beta driver which is unstable.

Is there anything else I could do?

Unfortunately not, unless you have a GPU not from AMD.

Okay, well should I try to find an older version then or should I try the beta version? I tried the beta version a few days ago and it had the same issue but I was not only installing the driver for that version.

Okay, I updated to 15.8 which is the beta driver and the problem still resides. I seem to get a lot less BSOD while using this but the "Graphics driver stopped working" error message is still persisting.

I am thinking it could be a flash player issue as Chrome and Firefox crash different amounts, Chrome has an inbuilt flash player and Firefox just uses the one you download. Do you think this could be the case?

Also i read that someone said their errors were caused by the AERO on windows 7. I'm presuming windows 10 uses AERO as well so could that be the issue?

Test it out by disabling flash player in chrome and firefox
    To disable flash in chrome
    • In the address balk type "chrome://plugins" (without quotes) and press enter
    • Uncheck adobe flash player / shockwave flash

    To disable flash in firefox
    • In the address balk type "about:addons" (without quotes) and press enter
    • Search Adobe Acrobat and choose 'ask to activate' or 'never activate'
