Random BSOD / System Freezes Daily

Hi, my computer on W10 64bit Version 22H2 Build 19045.4412 either BSODs or freezes randomly at least once a day. By freezing, I mean that the keyboard and mouse are no longer responsive but still powered on. I have run memtest86+, found corruption on both sticks, and then replaced both sticks. The new sticks passed 35 tests. I have run chkdks, dism, and sfc on the OS drive to fix corruption. I have reinstalled Windows. I have updated my BIOS and replaced my battery. The CPU passes the Intel diagnostic scan especially for the IMC portion. SMART data shows my SSD in okay health. The latest error was PFN_LIST_CORRUPT by the way

Despite that my PC still has these problems. I dont get BSODs every time, sometimes it just freezes without leaving any kind of log. I have uploaded the last minidump for the BSOD I have here: 051724-8625-01.dmp - Google Drive

Here is the log files: LUKEWARM-PC-(2024-05-19_19-35-56).zip - Google Drive

    Please perform the following steps:

    1) Run Tuneup plus > post a share link

    https://www.tenforums.com/attachment...p_plus_log.bat

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging

    2) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

    powercfg -h off

    3) Reboot

    4) Download and install one of these temperature monitoring software:
    a) Speccy
    b) HW Monitor
    c) Speedfan

    5) Run Prime95 for 3 hours (note warnings to abort testing)
Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU
Record the test duration and Temp max
    Post images or share links

    6) Report whether the RAM is or is not on the QVL

Hi Z-book, thanks for the reply. Currently, the PC experiences a BSOD once every few days, with the "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" error code (after disabling sleep and running the TuneUpPlus).
There were no dump files created since the last one I posted, even though I have enabled the creation of such files.

I have followed your steps. For point 1, here is the file: Tuneup_log 2024-05-20 at 02-38-41.zip - Google Drive. For point 5, here is the file: Screenshot 2024-05-30 061043.png - Google Drive . For point 6, my memory is not on the QVL. It is 2x8GB DDR3 Kingston FuryX rated at 1866Mhz, while my motherboard is only capable of 1600Mhz, so I believe that the motherboard automatically downclocks it to 1600Mhz.

That's a Tuneup plus record breaker: It took 319 minutes and 45 seconds to complete the operations.

And that is even more remarkable for a new Windows 10 installation.

    Please make a backup image:

(Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

Post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

Hi Z-book, its because the program seems to freeze/pause unless I manually press the Enter key into it. I have performed the Tune-Up Plus several times after that, each time for each BSOD. The latest only took 8 minutes to complete, as I was in front of the PC the whole time. Here is the link to it: Tuneup.log - Google Drive

That Tuneup plus completed in the typical time frame.

After the next BSOD please post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

And after any new BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

Hi Z-book, here is the link for the latest V2 I just ran: Update your browser to use Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Sites, Slides, and Forms - Google Drive Help

I ran Macrium Reflect Free to create a system image. It completed, however, during verification process, this error appeared:
Backup aborted! - 'E5F33B89F122CCE7-00-00.mrimg' Verification failed at 37% (Block 206367 hash value is incorrect)

I did set my backup location for the system image to my secondary hard drive. I am running CHKDSK on it to make sure there isnt any bad sectors on it. Should I recreate the backup image but save it on my primary solid state drive now instead?

Please run Sea Tools for Windows Long Generic test > post a share link

If it displays pass then open administrative command prompt: (plan to run overnight while sleeping)

    Chkdsk /b /v c:

    Type: y

    Reboot as needed.

Post a new v2 share link after ckkdsk has completed

CHKDSK found no errors, so I am unsure why the verification failed earlier. Upon reattempt of creating the backup (still secondary drive) , the process succeeded.

EDIT: Just saw your latest post on SeaTools and overnight CHKDSK, I am running them now

Hi Zbook, the generic long test passed, and CHKDSK on restart with /b /v switches was performed. Here is the result for SeaTools: Random BSOD / System Freezes Daily-pic1.png

    See post #2 step #2.

How come hibernation was not yet turned off?

The last BSOD was on 05/29/2024.
    The BSOD bugcheck was 4E.

Please read this link on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

Learn the methods to recover from using the tool by booting into safe mode and running one or more of these command prompt commands:

    verifier /reset

    verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

Create a new restore point before starting the tool:

Create System Restore Point in Windows 10

Start the tool with these settings:

    a) Test all non-Microsoft drivers

    b) Test no Microsoft drivers

    c) Start the customized with the 3 tests in the Ten Forums tutorial

Plan to run WDV for 48 hours with various customized tests.

When WDV is started if there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    verifier /querysettings

    Post a share link.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.
