Thanks - Hmm, in the browser from windows it shows like this,
W11 BSOD - various events, how to debug?-d3.png
but if I click in the address bar to copy the path, it changes to just J:/sources...
W11 BSOD - various events, how to debug?-d4.png
    I'll try the longer one.
    -------------------------------------------------
Note: entering J:\sources into an explorer file name resolves properly but shows the longer path with the media name included.
    (shown earlier)

    But,
    Entering the longer name with the media name included (J:\CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9\sources) fails;

I think the CCCOMA... portion is a media name, and not part of the windows path.
The Windows path is just J:\Sources

I'm not sure why you think the path name is too long for when I copied the .iso to a local file.
I'll do it again with a shorter path.

And (J:) is the mounted path of the ISO?
I would copy the install.wim to a folder like C:\Install

    @Pentagon:
Yes; J: was the mount point.

Yes (local copy), I already did that several steps ago.
You thought the path was too long (why?).
So I tried to just use the mounted iso (like online examples).
I just now made another local copy of he whole iso to a shorter path:
    C:\Windows\Temp\W11_iso
and reference that in the DISM command:
    C:\Windows\Temp\W11_iso\Sources\install.wim
I don't expect this to be any different than the previous local copy attempt, but - who knows...!

Each DISM try takes several hours. (!)

Did you have an internet connection when you executed the dism-command without /source?
    Did you ever run:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

use cmd (admin) instead of PS

to exclude any further errors just copy the install.wim to C:
    and run cmd
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:WIM:C:install.wim:6

If all that doesn't help I would either run an Inplacement or a new Setup

Yes, ran that DISM and it reported no errors.

Yeah, I am about to give up on DISM, odd that there are so many reports of failures with this "no source found" error, and no obvious cure that I can find to work.

    Means what?
The first (StartComponentCleanup) or the 2nd Dism-Command (RestoreHealth)?

    The first in your note.

The Restore is the one that always has "No Source found" problems.
