    BSOD 0x00000124 - ntoskrnl.exe

I was watching Amazon Prime when suddenly a BSOD slaps me in the face. I'm unable to self diagnose the crash as WinDBg keeps complaining about symbols. I was hoping someone here could give me a status report and logical solution to the crash.

    Thank you for your time.

I have a couple of questions....
    • There was a 0x50 BSOD on 13th November, but the dump for it was not uploaded, do you know why not? That dump might have been useful.
    • You have 16GB of RAM installed in 4 x 4GB cards, yet Windows is reporting only 14GB available. Are you running a RAM drive or is there another reason why 2GB of RAM is missing?

The 0x124 BSOD is inconclusive - as they often are. It was a machine check exception, which usually indicates a hardware error, although it is possible for a bad driver to cause a 0x124 under exceptional circumstances.

There is nothing in your System log to account for this BSOD, there are no device error messages for example. There is nothing in your Application log either, although your having regular problems with mDNSResponder.exe - the Bonjour process. It's failing regularly with stack buffer overruns (0xC0000409 exceptions) but that shouldn't case the 0x124 BSOD. You've also been having propbelms with GTA dues to a module called SilentPatchIII.asi but again, that shouldn't cause the 0x124 BSOD.

Sadly I can't give you a nice tidy solution for that 0x124 BSOD. I would monitor things for a while and post another V2 log if you get further BSODs. And please, never delete dumps until you really need the space back.
