For example, can the stress test consistently cause BSOD?
Or was it a coincidence?
The computer is a Dance, the longer that Dance is Dancing then mistakes can happen i think the fault is just that a mistake. If this was something that was happening like clock work on the dot or when producing an repeatable outcome then it would be something to investigate.
Restart the computer at intervals because they become confused over time. Like going to sleep? then turn the computer off.
A computer that is has a problem will crash frequent not once a month. Like clockwork.
Ok I ran the 3D Adaptive again today. Below are the results.
1/22/24 Running 3D Adaptive on the Extreme + Steady Load settings:
-09:00 AM started running again; Result: BSOD
-11:44 AM started running again; Result: BSOD
-12:04 PM started running again; Result: BSOD
I have another graphics card I can test with, but it won't be the exact same. The one currently in the PC is a 3080, but I also have a 3070 I can swap in. Should I do the swap and run the same test?
Please swap test.
I swapped out the card when you said so and ran the same graphics test (success). Today I received a new blue screen. After I put in the new card (it was previously used for crypto mining), I updated the drivers. It seemed to run very laggy at first, but over a few days it got better. Then after some more time it started doing this thing where I would be playing Fortnite and the screen would freeze/get extremely jittery and that lasted for about 1-2 seconds. Today it finally blue screened and gave error code INVALID PROCESS ATTACH ATTEMPT.
How come the BIOS was not yet upgraded to the most up to date non-beta BIOS?
Read this link on WDV:
Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10
Create a new restore point:
Create System Restore Point in Windows 10
Ok so I used the AORUS app center to update the bios, then rebooted. Then I started the WDV, created a restore point, then rebooted so that the WDV starts going. Apparently I now need to wait until a BSOD occurs, but what if it never happens? I'm gonna lock my computer and leave it on overnight, so I guess if I don't wake up to a blue screen then I can assume all the drivers are good?
WDV has multiple customized tests.
If there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt ACP and copy and paste:
verifier /querysettings
Post a share link.
Then the customized settings can be modified.
