Many times they will pass the short test, but if there is a problem it will fail the long test.

Ok. I was just following those instructions. I'll run the long tests.

When I ask someone to run Seatools, I usually ask for the short and long test. I didn't with you for some reason.

I'm having the same problem as I did with the memtest86+. I started with the Hitachi drive and 3 times it gets to about 1% maybe 2% and then the screen goes dark and no system response. I tired running on the other two disks with the same problem.
So I played around with things when I would get these hangs. The box I have, Cooler Mixer, has two buttons for power. They light up. The lower one flickers while the SeaTools is running. It continues to flicker when the hangs occur. I then click on keys and no response. I eject the boot CD and no response and the lights keep flickering. I've waited up to five minutes and the system never responds. I finally need to hit ctrl-alt-del to get back the system.
Because this hang is happening while running the SeaTools diagnostic I'm wondering if the problem goes back to mother board or RAM. We aren't even using the disks when running this tool.
I just wish I could get this memtest86+ to finish.

Carl, please use your system, but if you don't have one, get you software that will read your CPU and your GPU temps. Use your system and run it pretty hard, if you game, play some games. Keep track of both temps at all times. If you get a BSOD please upload the DM Log Collector again. If you don't have temp monitoring software, I can give you some suggestions. I want to rule out overheating as the cause.

if you have some temp software please provide recommendations.
I don't game but I do have Digital Audio workstation (DAW) software that might task the system.

For the GPU most manufacturers have a utility that will work. Most are overclocking utilities but are very good at reading temps and settings. If you don't have one MSI Afterburner is good (http://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner) for the CPU I like either Core Temp or Real Temp

thank you. I'm running RealTemp and all four cores are 43-47c with not much of a load. I will try to put some load on the system as well.
But my BSOD crashes have not come with much load. I"ll have only a handfull of MS apps, web browser run and it can crash.
I've enable logging so that if it does crash I can go in and see what the temp is. I've set the log for 60 secs
