system just crashed again
i'm not sure where to post this so if it should be someplace else please let me know.
It is believed, and I agree with axe0, that it is most likely a memory problem.
He said I should run memtest86+ but I can not get it to boot. it says "missing operating system" when it attempts to boot. I tried the last 5.01 and then the earlier version 4.20 with the same results.
I was able to create a bootable usb for memtest86 but the problem with this is that my monitor goes to sleep and I can't see the results. sigh!
Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm getting more frequent bsod's and I'd really like to figure out if it's my memory, which chips, or if it's my mother board.
thanks in advance

V6.1.0 is the latest, download the usb version
MemTest86 - Download now!
I'm sorry, but I have almost the same problem as you have with MemTest86+, but I can't even access my BIOS when the USB is connected.
The 1st time I wanted to use MemTest to test it and it fails...
Bazz, I did. I've downed both latest and previous versions of the usb installer and they don't boot
You can't access bios or you can't find the usb in the bios
If you have UEFI BIOS, you probably have to disable fast boot and secure boot.
You can disable secure boot in the BIOS.
I can't access the BIOS, I get something like this but with less light
For the test you should use this program. It is much better Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
Essenbe, that is what I'm trying to use but I can't boot to the usb drive. I just tried the memtest86 to see if that would boot, and it does.
