BSOD while playing Baldurs Gate 3

Hello, I keep experience a variety of crashes when gaming on my new build, specifically Baldur's Gate 3 is very bad

    • Fresh installation of Windows on a brand new harddrive.
    • Graphics drivers reinstalled using DDU on safe mode
    • Chkdsk/scannnows etc all done and returned no errors

    Here is my dump file(s):
    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqRJ6iNKBcyIi-Q_...vwA8w?e=Ppt8wb

Update: it really is isolated to this game only, I've played 30 hours or so of other intensive games since making this post and not experienced one crash or BSOD so I guess I can safely assume it is a bug with this game/nvidia's optimized drivers. Either way if anyone has any experience with this issue with this game and can shed some light I would appreciate it!

You appear to have a small RAM overclock in place...?
    Code:
    Speed : 3020
    PartNumber : CMK16GX4M2B3000C15
When you're getting BSODs you need to remove all overclocks (and undervolts) until the issue is solved.

Does it only BSOD when gaming, or does it BSOD (or crash) at other times?

I've never overclocked my machine (i don't even know how to)

it only does it when I play this game

I got more crashes. It's just crazy. I can't play this game for more than 5 minutes. Also getting CTDs and just now my PC simply froze and stopped responding to any input

    What's a CTD?

Can you post your FULL system specs, including the PSU size, make and model please? I'm curious about your PSU because it's entirely possible that Baldur's Gate puts a heavier load than usual on the GPU and the PSU may not be able to cope. It's curious that it's just this one game that BSODs. Your logs also show no evidence of problems elsewhere.

In the four dumps in the latest upload, two fail during a graphics operation, one fails during kernel streaming USB audio, and the fourth fails during core messaging. Two dumps directly reference third-party drivers and they both reference nvlddmkm.sys (the Nvidia graphics driver), although that doesn't mean this driver is necessarily the problem. All four dumps however have curious addresses on their call stacks for which we don't have symbols, that's unusual and indicates that something abnormal is going on here.

One dump references farflt.sys, which is a Malwarebytes driver, so the first thing I'd suggest you try is uninstalling or disabling Malwarebytes and see whether that makes a difference.

    CTD means crash to desktop

my full specs are on my profile i made sure to update them before i posted the psu is KRPW-BK650W/85+ KRPW is the maker (kurouto shikou) and 650W is the size i guess

changing my resolution in-game from my native to one size down appears to fix the crashing which just makes no sense so i can only assume it is a bug within baldurs gate/an issue with nvidia's optimized drivers

i tested out playing some other pretty albeit older but graphic intensive games like FFXV and they run beautifully on full graphics in my native resolution
    i will remove malwarebytes anyways

I don't see your spec. In any case, I shouldn't have to go searching through your profile to find essential information.

Updated my original post but I think there is probably no solution to this issue since it seems to be specific to BG3

I was on my phone (and am now), there is no drop down. In any case, when people are volunteering their time and effort to try and help you it's not wise to make life harder for them.

I too think it's most likely a problem with the game.
