Volmgr 161 + WHEA

Here’s those parameters for ya- just bluescreened while playing minecraft with my brother.

Assuming there was no dump file created I think something is going wrong with the system drive. It's almost always the drive that's the problem but it could also be the m.2 slot. Do you have another m.2 slot on your motherboard you could try?

I’ve changed out the motherboard previous to this. Every part has been swapped, and some more than others. Still experiencing the same issue. Just got another one, codes as follows. Do these mean anything?

Only the first parameter is meaningful without a dump file to look at. The last two hex digits of the first parameter are 10 which indicates a problem was detected with a PCIe device. A dump file would likely tell us which device but we don't have one to check.

It looks like you have multiple drives and your pagefile is on the C: drive. Can you move the pagefile to a secondary drive and configure Windows to save the dump to, for example, D:\DumpFiles\MEMORY.DMP ? That could allow a dump file to be written to that location even if the system drive goes AWOL.

edit: Also, please set the dump file type to "Automatic memory dump" if it isn't already.

This is the first I’ve heard this suggestion in order to get a dump file. Not saying it won’t work, however no suggestions have worked regarding this issue, as apparently a dump file will only be generated if the BSOD can get to 100%, which it never leaves 0%. I’ve made this change and will keep you updated - thank you!

That's why you need to move the pagefile to another drive. Memory gets dumped to the pagefile when a crash happens. That can't occur if the pagefile is on a disk that has gone AWOL.

The results are in- just experienced the same BSOD. Was only using Chrome this time…

DumpFiles folder I made and pointed it toward is still empty. No dmp file created as the BSOD continued to stay on 0%

Did you change the pagefile settings to move it to another drive? What does msinfo32 show for the page file location?

Nope! I did not- thanks for the hyperlink. I went to make this change, but after following the directions, it says to delete a C:\pageinfo.sys on the root, but I don’t see that anywhere, nor was this made on my D drive so I’m not sure it would set it there then

It's a less than intuitive interface. I've found that I have to set the system for no pagefile, exit out of the dialogs, restart the computer, go back into the dialog and then set a new pagefile on the target drive for it to properly set.

I'd suggest selecting the System managed size radio button option rather than Custom size option shown in the directions.
