BSOD Randomly Mostly in Games w/ Kernal Error 41

    Windows 11 Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.1265)

Hello, I've been getting these random crashes mostly when I'm gaming but sometimes just lightly using my computer. When gaming the computer will freeze (sometimes the sound will continue sometimes not), and then force reboot. I've included the XML output from Event Viewer below of the event and here is the link for the V2 log files.

I just recently built this computer, and all of the parts are brand new. I'm hoping it's not a hardware issue causing this, and I appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks

Here is the XML of the Event Viewer for when the crash happened:

    Code:

    Hi DMan2699,

    Welcome to Tenforums.

I see you have Hogwarts Legacy; is this the game you have problems with and if so, is it the only game you experience problems with?

No, this is not the only game I'm having problems with. I have had these crashes with other games and apps (like Premiere Pro) in the past (before I installed Hogwarts Legacy) and also rarely (but it has happened) while just browsing the web. Additionally, I have included the crash report from a few days ago, which is where it seemed like the NVIDIA driver caused the crash, yet the most recent ones aren't reporting that. I've used DDU to cleanly remove and reinstall drivers. I've also ran MemTest86 to check the RAM (nothing wrong with the ram).

At this point I'm praying it's not a hardware problem, because everything is brand new, but my suspicion is that it might be a PSU issue? Like the GPU has a power requirement spike, and then something craps out? Idk. Thanks for your help.

Your PSU should be able to handle it, but since it's new it may be worth checking the 3.3v, 5v and 12v values in the UEFI. They should be within ~5% range of their respective values otherwise the PSU may still cause malfunctioning.

I checked the rails while at idle. All are within their normative values. Is there anything in my log files that could help with the troubleshooting?

I assume you tested with the free version which is limited to 4 passes, you'll want to run it multiple times.

The clue is in that error report. The nvlddmkm.sys driver is your graphics card driver, and they are a favourite source of BSOD. Ensure that you have the latest graphics driver installed, if that doesn't help then try the previous two versions. It's possible of course that the problem is the graphics card itself. The PSU is also a potential cause, if you post the full spec others may be able to advise whether the PSU has enough grunt....
