    continuous crashes/ possibly temp related- hardware i think.


    ive been getting this continuous crash for months now, i thought i t was a temp based issue but ive done everything i can and its not like the temp is super crazy, but this is getting obnoxious, its alwayss in the middle of a game it seems. the crash report is as follows for the last three from latest first.
    The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe507cee9e028, 0x00000000be000000, 0x0000000000800400). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 0030799d-8e88-4869-9eb0-b1282825215d.

    The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffff808f0cd63028, 0x00000000be000000, 0x0000000000800400). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: bf4f5166-fd37-4e99-b928-0085f64def6a.

    You said it wasn't the temperature but are your temperatures within the acceptable range for your CPU and GPU?

    The crashing could be caused by many things. One of them may be a marginal or failing power supply. The best way to test this is by substituting a know good power supply. I did this as you can see in my narrative below...

    My main desktop started crashing when playing games. It would even crash when I ran the Heaven Benchmark. When it crashed the screen went black and all the fans went to max RPMs. Holding the power button for 6 seconds would not even shut down the computer. To shut down the computer I had to disconnect power to the computer.

    This started happening when I decided to replace my GTX 1060 6GB with an RTX 3060-Ti 8GB one. Before I pulled the GTX 1060 I ran the Heaven benchmark so I could compare the results when I ran it with the RTX 3060-Ti. To my surprise my computer hard crashed. I wondered whether my GTX 1060 had failed so installed the RTX 3060-Ti. It crashed also with the Heaven benchmark.

    I temporarily replaced my 4 year old Corsair RM-750i power supply with a 12 year old Antec TruePower New TP-650 power supply. I also put the GTX 1060 back in the computer. With this power supply the computer no longer crashed. This proved to me and Corsair that my Corsair power supply was at fault.

    I made a warrant claim on the Corsair RM-750i power supply. They sent me a RM-750x one as a replacement. My computer did not crash anymore.
