Restoring at least once a week because of BSOD

    Yes, I think you always should use "Prefer maximum performance" in the Power Mode.
    Often it can help prevent the PC from crashing and getting a BSOD.

    Now before anything else goes wrong - start using 3rd party disk imaging regularly and routinely, so you have a number of dates to which to restore any partition you image. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free/paid) + large enough external storage for sets of image files. Allows you to recover from failed disk, corrupt O/S, theft...even your own mistakes- all provided you have a suitable image.

    Ensure you image at least all O/S partitions.

    Start this as early as you can- a naive optimist will configure and install things like crazy, and only then think about starting to use backups.
